B-6 Wednesday, March 28, 2012 The Press-Dispatch National Kidney month raising awareness about CKD Otwell Elementary and DaVita is helping raise aware- ness about chronic kidney disease (CKD), a condition that an estimat- ed 31 million adults living in the United States have, as well as the 550,000 Americans with end stage renal disease (ESRD) who need di- alysis or a kidney transplant. The GFR indicates the person's stage of chronic kidney disease which provides an evaluation of kidney function.
