Spring Sports Preview in Section D B-1 Wednesday, March 28, 2012 E-Mail Sports Items to: sports@pressdispatch.net Sports Tidbits From the Mini Mac By Mike Johansen WELS.net that has to do with the theme at Easter. Ready, think about it and know that this time of year is special for everyone on earthy if they would just be- lieve and worship our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. "The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glori- fied."—John 12:23. "The dictionary's syn- onyms of the word "glory" include words like these: adore, exalt, wonder, bril- liance, grandeur, beauty. These words are all true of Jesus, but his glory comes "backwards-and-upside- down" from the way much of our society and the people around us believe it should come. Glory comes with fame and honor, not in shame and dishonor. Glory comes as a winner, not as a loser. Glory comes with power and authority, not in weakness and humiliation. So captivating is this drive for glory that you might find yourself engaged in it right now in your life where you live. Look at how different Jesus is. H ere is another very pertinent Bible Study from "The hour has come"… for the Son of Man to be crushed under the pressure of lifting a lifetime of your sins and a history of the world's sins, making his sweat pores drip blood… "and to be glorified." "The hour has come"… for the Son of Man to feel the sticky, slimy saliva of his friend wet his cheek in betrayal and 142 eyes of the court to sear him with glares of hatred and revenge…"and to be glori- fied." "The hour has come"… for the Son of Man to feel the blunt force of raw knuckles and calloused hands; to experience inch long thorns penetrating his scalp; to sense cold metal and hear the sound of a hammer driving him into the wood of a cross…"and to be glorified." Stephanie Richardson winds up to release a pitch during her outing against Vincennes Lincoln on March 21. Emma Crow had an infield hit, Whann was safe on an error and Gladish smacked a double that scored two runs to end the game on the 10-run rule. "This game was a great outs on a deep fly to left and a ground out. Whann start- ed the run with a single and by a base hit by Gladish and the bases were loaded on a walk by Shoultz. Lee walked with the bases loaded for the first run, McCammon also walked in a run with pitcher Hallie Richardson singling in two runs and an error ac- counted for the fifth run of the inning before a pop up to end the scoring. Both teams went quietly in the fifth and North Knox was able to get runners on via a single and a walk, but left them on first and second in the top of the sixth. The bottom of the sixth started with Lee gaining base on an error. After an out, H. "The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glori- fied." The hour is here for you to believe and celebrate the Son of Man being glorified. If you want to feel the full effect of this verse, to see and hear it see the movie "The Passion of the Christ." Father, glorify Jesus' B3200 name. Glorify all of us through Jesus and his glory. Bring us safely through this life to the glory of heaven where we may glorify the One whose blood has saved all of us, if we just believe in Him. Amen. I want you to read a couple of letters that Pike Central Swim Coach Jason McKinney and the school received about the swim team and their true display of sportsmanship. It is the way Jesus would want us to act in such a case and these wonderful kids did it on their own because their coaches teach great values along with great swimming. It is a credit to both the swimmers and divers and the coaches. ******* The first came from, Scott A.
