APPLESAUCE PORK CHOPS By Monica Sinclair I asked my husband a couple of weeks ago what meals he wanted me to cook for that coming week. He replied, "pork chops and ap- plesauce." Now, if any of you are Brady Bunch fans, you know from where this comes. However, I thought, "why not? " So, I pro- ceeded to look on the Internet for a crockpot recipe for pork chops and applesauce and found one quite quickly. It was super simple, only used four ingredients and the pork chops were falling apart because they were so tender. In addition, there was a great sweet flavor to them. I served them with a side of rosemary and olive oil qui- noa/brown rice mix. The meal was delicious and I will definitely make it again. Enjoy! Source: crockpotrecipeexchange.com INGREDIENTS YOU'LL NEED: 2 - 3 pounds of pork chops 1 - 24-ounce jar unsweetened applesauce 3/4 cup of brown sugar, light or dark 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon MEALS IN Monica's MINUTES 1. In a 4 - 6 quart crock pot, place the pork chops in even layers. 2. Mix applesauce and brown sugar together and pour the top of the pork chops. Evenly sprinkle the cin- namon over the top. 3. Cook on low for 5 - 6 hours or on high for 3 - 4 hours. COOKING DIRECTIONS: COOKBOOK GIVEAWAY The first person to email me at monicasmealsin- minutes@pressdispatch.net with the name of the char- acter on the Brady Bunch who said "pork chops and ap- plesauce," and the name of the episode in which it ap- peared, will win a cookbook from my collection. You must include your name and phone number, and be willing to pick up your prize at the local office. The winner's name will be listed in next week's column. Good Luck!
