Bresha Webb, best known for her work in drama series' such as "ER" and "Grey's Anatomy," stars as Angie, who isn't afraid to keep Russell in line. Nash remains steadfast in keeping "Truth Be Told" as au- thentic as possible; in fact, many of the topics discussed — and some of the conversations themselves — are pulled direct- ly from his real life. To say he's drawing from experience would almost be an understatement as he claims to often try to draw out fights with his wife in an at- tempt to glean material from them that he can use in the show. "Whenever [my wife and I are] in a fight or if I'm out in the world and something happens, I will stay in it longer because I want to see what the third act is," Nash joked with AfterBuzz TV at PaleyFest in September. "I can't resolve the fight too fast because I need 22 minutes [of show material]." Executive producer William Packer, whose producing credits include the Ice Cube/Kevin Hart comedy "Ride Along" (2014) and the immensely successful NWA bio-pic "Straight Outta Compton" (2015), commended Nash in the same AfterBuzz TV interview for using personal ex- periences to fuel the story. "That's what I really dig about having somebody like DJ, who's not afraid to pull from real-life situations," he ex- plained. "People know when stuff is fake now. They know when it just feels fabricated and it doesn't feel authentic. He's not afraid to actually pull things from his real life — personal stuff or stuff that just happens to him on the weekend.
