BUSINESS September 11, 2015 • Milwaukee County Post •7 MILWAUKEE — Employers in the United States are predicting the strongest hiring plans for the fourth quarter of this year since the fourth quarter of 2007, according to a Manpower Employment Outlook Survey released Tuesday. Employers in the U.S. remain the most optimistic in the Americas, but Indian, Taiwanese and Japanese employers have more optimistic intentions about adding to payrolls globally. In addition, Romanian employers anticipate strong hiring while Brazil, Italy, France, Greece and Finland reported negative hiring plans. Chinese employers are still positive in their hiring intentions, according to the Manpower sur- vey, but plan to add staff at the slowest rate in more than six years. Of the more than 11,000 U.S. employers surveyed, 21 percent anticipate increasing staff levels in the fourth quarter, while 6 percent of employers expect workforce reductions, according to the survey results. Seventy-one percent of employers expect no change in hiring plans, and 2 percent are undecided about their hiring intentions. "The U.S. labor market continues to show broad-based, stable growth, with significant milestones over time such as hiring prospects at a seven-year high, unemploy- ment at 5.1 percent and weekly jobless claims recently reaching a 40-year low," said Jonas Prising, CEO of ManpowerGroup, in a statement. "But as the labor market tight- ens, employers are increasingly telling us they are having difficulty finding skilled candidates — a situation not helped by the low labor participation rate." According to the survey, employers have a positive outlook in all 13 industry sectors included in the survey, with the best out- looks in leisure and hospitality, wholesale and retail trade, professional and business services and transportation and utilities. Among the 50 states, employers in Indiana, Minnesota, North Dakota, Arizona and South Carolina indicate the strongest net employment outlooks, according to the survey, while employers in Alaska, Wyoming, Illinois and Arkansas project the weakest outlooks. www.manpowergroup.com — Katherine Michalets, Conley News Service MILWAUKEE — Grifols celebrated the opening of its $2 million Talecris Plasma Resources plasma donor center last month at 6530 N. 76th St. The 14,950-square-foot facility is the lat- est addition to Grifols' extensive plasma donor center network.
