March 1-March 7, 2012 www.shelbyinfo.com PlayING at the Shelby Parks & Recreation Department Cleveland County's #1 Attraction MARCH Events Calendar Now Through March 2nd Western Youth Midget Basketball Tournament Midget Basketball teams ages 11 & 12 from Western North Carolina will compete for the 2012 Western Youth Athletic Association Championship at the Shelby City Park Gym beginning on Monday, February 27th. Now Through March 16th Girl's Fast-Pitch Softball Sign-Ups Girl's ages 6 thru 14 registrations continues at the Shelby City Park. Register Monday – Friday from 8:30 - 5:30PM in the City Park Offi ce. Now Through March 30th Shelby City Park Baseball Sign-Ups Sign-ups for ages 6 thru 17 will be held Monday – Friday from 8:30AM til 5:30PM in the Shelby City Park Offi ce. March 3rd CFA Licensed National Cat Show Held in the Shelby City Park Gym on Saturday from 9:00AM til 5:00PM. Over 150 cats in competition. March 6th SHAG LESSONS at the Shelby City Park Girl Scout Hut $40 per person. This is 6 1 hour lessons beginning on Tuesday, March 6th and meeting on Tuesday's for 6 weeks. No Partner Needed. March 6th - 8th & 20th – 22nd Spring Excursions at the Shelby City Park's Carrousel & Rotary Train Shelby City Park is offering six days in March for school groups to ride The Carrousel and /or Rotary Train for free. No Ticket or operator fees for groups who make a reservation for these days. March 9th – 18th Lifeguard Training Class with Shelby City Park Must pass pre-swim on Friday March 9th to take class. Must be 15 Years Old to take Class. Class held at Shelby High School Pool. Deadline to register is Friday, February 24th. March 25th 2012 Shelby's Little Miss /Teen Miss Pageant Sunday, March 25th at the Shelby City Park Gymnasium Contestants will compete in one of eight categories for Age Division Beauty titles. Entry deadline in Monday, March 12, 2012 at 5:00PM. March 31st Shelby City Park Easter Egg Hunt Kids ages 2-10 bring your Easter Basket and join the Easter Bunny, Tru- man the Kidsville News Mascot to hunt for more than 6000 eggs around the Shelby City Park. Egg Hunt & Fun from 9:30AM til 12:00PM. Meet in Rotary Train Parking Lot! Rain Date – Sunday, April 1st. March 31st Brain Injury Awareness Day Event last from 12:00PM til 3:00PM. Brain Injury information and FREE Bicycle helmets given to all kids. Carrousel and Rotary Train rides and much more fun!
