"Once it's determined where that ball's going and what's going on ... we want everybody getting there. That's an effort thing." "I thought we did a good job of really flying to the ball," Powell added. "There were a few times when we made plays in the backfield, and it wasn't one person. We had three, four, five people there. And then, even when maybe a running back tried to stay up and move, there were another four or five coming. Anybody that got to come out and watch, I think they saw some really good things." Pike Central will open the season when it travels to Evansville Bosse. Kick- off is set for 7:30 p.m., East- ern time. The Chargers are 0 -5 against the Bulldogs, in- cluding season-ending loss- es each of the last two years, including a 41-20 loss at En- low Field in 2014. "It's always nice, from a player's perspective, to get to that point where you can get out and hit somebody else," Powell said. "I think the kids are excited about it. Bosse is going to be an ath- letic group. A lot of times, as you go into the next season, you can pull video from the last two or three years. But they've got a new coach and a new system on both sides." "We're excited about get- ting things going," Powell said. "It's a fun place to play, I think. The kids are look- ing forward to going down there. We didn't start off re- al well last year, but I think it's going to be a better show- ing all the way around, just because the kids have had some success in the sum- mer and has some success tonight. I think it's going to be different – different kids, different mentality."
