Page 5 April 2, 2015 Arts and Entertainment The film, "Get Hard" is an American comedy about the wealthy businessman James King, played by Will Ferrel, who's falsely accused of fraud and theft, but tries to prove himself innocent. At the trial, the judge is sick of rich people, like James, getting away with crimes, so the judge finds him guilty and sentences him to ten years in prison with 30 days to get his affairs in order. Later on he runs into his less fortunate car washer, Darnell Lewis, played by Kevin Hart, and tells him all about his sob story, how sorry he feels for himself and how afraid he is of going to prison. The directors made James King's character ignorant, frail and a tad bit racist, somebody most 'comedy' movies seem to have. James then proceeds to ask Darnell how he coped with prison, simply assuming he was incarcerated because he's an African-American. The weird thing about that part is that everybody in the room laughed at it. So I guess movies have to be a little bit racist to be funny now? Anyway, Darnell takes advantage of James's The movie that has everyone gossiping about the famous actor, Taylor Lautner, is introduced as Tracers. It's a 5 star movie, produced by Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, and D. Scott Lumpkin. It recently came out on March 20th, 2015 in the USA. Long story short the movie Tracers is about a beautiful woman (Marie Av g e r o p o u l o s) also known as Nikki in the film, helps Lautner who plays Cam, a New York bike messenger who owes $15,000 to Chinatown thugs. They want their money, and his job doesn't pay enough to get it. So Cam joins a bunch of mysterious slackers who do parkour by day and rob Russian mobsters and Vietnamese gangs by night. It's a high-stakes career move, but doesn't help the film from being anything but standard, action-flick, flare. As far as action movies go, "Tracers" delivers; satisfying with action scenes that aren't the run-of-the-mill combat stunts or fierce shootouts. It doesn't veer into violent territory to impress, but relies firmly on human athleticism and grace to create its action. The stunts are a welcome change from the usual fights or chases, while still managing to thrill you and keep you in suspense as you wonder if the hero will make that next jump or hurdle. Cam makes several painful missteps at times, failing to clear critical crevices or smashing into obstacles by accident. Whether or not this is intentional or moot, what matters is that it creates a sense of realism by depicting a believable rate of success, rather than a perfectly executed stunt each time. This adds to the tension, since you know the protagonist isn't always going to be successful. The plot may seem like the most typical action movie , but the acrobatic stunts more than c o m p e n s a t e , many of them p e r f o r m e d by Lautner himself. After 2011's "A b d u c t i o n " cast his drawing power into question, this could be the "Twilight" star's last gleaming. "Tracers" is a great action movie that delivers well on its title. It's clear that the focus of the movie went to the parkour scenes. Taken in that context, it's an enjoyable ride through the concrete jungle of New York. Savanah Sutliff Topics Editor Britney Miranda Staff Writer It is great entertainment for all ages!! attitude to create a whole new life for herself. Kimmy found a Job working for a rich house wife and her spoiled children as well as finding new place to live with a hilarious aspiring actor the flamboyant Titus Andromedon (Tituss Burgess) who will come to be her best friend. This show is all about optimism and the powers of a positive outlook and there is no one better to represent that than the talented ray of sunshine Ellie Kemper who brings incredible strength into a character that at sometimes seems to be a child stuck in the body of an adult and truly earns the title unbreakable. This show is quirky as could be expected from the makers of 30 Rock, but also full of heart and of course jam packed full of hilarious antics. So if you are looking for a fun a ridiculously upbeat comedy show log on to Netflix and start watching the unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt it will deliver. foolishness since he needs thousands of dollars to move his daughter out of a bad neighborhood and into a nicer one. He charges James thirty grand to teach him how to toughen up for the prison life, hence the title "Get Hard." Darnell embarks on a journey in the small time frame they have to get James ready for prison and turns his mansion into a makeshift jail with James's servants as fellow prisoners. Now that was ridiculous because Darnell has absolutely no idea how it's actually like serving time, yet James is convinced he's the only one who can help him. I can understand why Darnell is manipulating James though. He's the type of guy that would do anything for the well being of his family. Overall, this movie was a seven out of ten. It was kind of cliche, and the plot was predictable. The only reason I went to go see the this movie was becsuse Kevein Hart was a part of it. I thought it was goin to be funnier. The plot was predictable and overall disappointing. 'The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' is a popular new sitcom created by the makers of 30 Rock, Tina Fey and Robert Carlock. Although unlike the release of 30 Rock which was first aired on NBC 'The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' was released on Netflix on March 6 of this year after first being passed up by NBC, but no worries this show will be sticking around on Netflix for at least another season due to the two season request that Netflix put in their contract. The plot follows the misadventures of Kimmy Schmidt (Ellie Kemper) who is trying desperately to reinvent herself in New York after being a victim of a kidnapping by a the hands of a radical cult leader and being held underground with three other women for most of her adult life. After Kimmy was rescued her story went viral and she and the other captives were renamed by the media as "mole woman" a name Kimmy despised. In order to enjoy her life, Kimmy changed her last name to Smith and used her extremely positive and cheery Julissa Villalobos Staff Writer It's up beat and full of comedy! Facebook.com Bluffer Staff Pick 'The Secondhand Lions ' "Secondhand Lions" is a 2003 American comedy-drama film written and directed by Tim McCanlies. It takes place in 1962 in the Texas countryside, and 14-year old Walter Caldwell (Haley Joel Osment) is left by his irresponsible mother, Mae (Kyra Sedgwick), to live for the summer with his great-uncles, Hub (Robert Duvall) and Garth (Michael Caine) McCann, brothers said to have a secret fortune. Curious, Walter asks Garth about where they disappeared to for the last forty years. Garth explains that after they fought in World War I, Garth became a guide in Africa, while Hub traveled the world. During his travels, Hub met and fell in love with Jasmine, a princess promised to a powerful Sheik. When Hub rescued her, the Sheik put a price on Hub's head, keeping them in constant peril from assassins and bounty hunters. After Jasmine dies of child birth years later, Hub and Garth retired in Texas. The day after Walter hears the story, Hub orders a lion from a circus animal dealer, intending to mount its head after killing it; however, they end up with an aging, tame lioness. Walter gets to keep her as a pet and names her Jasmine, angering Hub. Walter's mother returns with her current boyfriend. They demand that Walter reveal the location of the fortune, claiming Hub and Garth were actually bank robbers, that Jasmine was their accomplice, and the money is theirs for the taking. Walter chooses to believe in his uncles instead of her. Sick of Mae's lies, Walter leaves her and lives with Garth and Hub. 'Secondhand Lions' is one of my favorite movies. It is a joyful comedy with a bit of mystery. It is a compelling story which demands attentive viewing. It is not purely a comedy, but instead probes the depth of emotion. I believe this film serves as great entertainment with its impressive dialogue and interesting plot. It really holds the audience's attention. Not only is this movie meant for entertainment, but it also gives life lessons. It is a movie great for all ages, and it will definitely always be one of my favorites.
