Page 4 March 13, 2015 Arts and Entertainment Additive and not too diffcult, but boring all in all. I do not recommend this movie for anyone! Save your money! Classic 'Who-Done-It' Film! Hailie Willey Staff Writer Bluffer Staff Pick 'Clue' (1985) Amazing movie with an outstanding cast. Illeana Hilsee Staff Writer 'The Lazarus Effect' is a tacky supernatural/horror movie which came out on February 27, 2015. The movie was directed by David Gelb and released by 'Relativity Media'. It stars well known actors such as Evan Peters, Olivia Wilde, Mark Duplass, Sarah Bolger and Donald Glover. In the movie, a group of scientists produce a serum that could bring the dead back to life using the code name "Lazarus" to keep it on the down low. The team was ecstatic and couldn't wait to put it to work. They first experimented on a dog, when that was successful they would move on and try it on a girl named Zoe. The serum worked successfully and Zoe was back to life. After a while, Zoe started acting unusual, bringing attention to the scientists. They soon found out when linking the dead to the living again, it may open a way for evil spirits to come out. There are a few big turning points in this movie. The first would be experimenting on the dog and it being a success. Could it be something life changing? A second being when they brought Zoe back to life. This proves that they have totally breached a point in technology with a serum that could utterly change the entire future and cause many to not be afraid or saddened by death. When Zoe starts to act strange. No one knows what is really going on. Zoe's behavior progressively gets worse and she starts to act more unusual than before. This is what catches their attention and when they start to realize they might have created something absolutely terrible. The film itself was pretty terrible. It was really predictable like most "scary" movies these days. The graphics and overall production of the movie was also not very good. The editing appeared as a child did it. I also was not scared at all, which means a lot because I am always scared added on to the fact it was in Anderson and I was by myself at 9 o'clock at night. I was really unimpressed by the acting too. Though some actors definitely nailed their role, there were enough that didn't which made the movie unenjoyable. Honestly, Evan Peters was the only thing keeping me from leaving the theatre and having my sister pick me up because he is nice to look at. If you really wanted to see the movie, I would suggest waiting for it to come out in Redbox or even Netflix so you are not too disappointed. Horror movie 'The Lazarus Effect' causes 'ZigZag' contains potential for future fun with little frustration 'Unfinished Business' deceives viewers with genuinely "It wasn't funny and it was poorly directed. " - Julissa Villalobos 'Crossy Road' bores with simple layout Kourtney Sanders Staff Writer Really entertaining at first but can become boring. Clay (Evan Peters) checks in on Zoe (Olivia Wilde) after she starts showing some strange behavior from the serum that brought her back to life. When playing 'Crossy Road' players attempt to avoid certain obstacles. 'Crossy Road' is a game that anyone can play, and I mean EVERYONE. It is so easy and takes such basic skills. It is one of the most popular games on the app store. 'Crossy Road' is a game where you try to cross as many rows of grass, logs, railroads and roads as possible. All you have to do is avoid the cars and trains that are always passing by. All you have to do to cross is tap the screen. You tap to jump forward, and just swipe in the direction you want to go to. On your way across you can get coins. You can either get coins by jumping onto the coin icon, or by getting a free gift. You can get a free gift over a certain amount of time. You can use these coins to get a character. Each character is worth one-hundred coins, but you don't get to choose which one you get. You can also get one of the 50+ characters by buying one for $.99. The settings can change depending on what character you use. Some characters you have to earn instead of being able to buy. For example, instead of the usual grass, with certain characters the grass could change to snow. Even the time can go from day to night depending on your character. 'Crossy Road' is the type of game that can be really addicting at first, but then after awhile can get really boring. After awhile you start to lose interest in playing this game. Rebecca Frey Staff Writer 'ZigZag', by Ketchapp, is a new gaming app that's both addictive and frustrating. The rating average is 4 stars, and it has over five million downloads. It's near the top of the charts, with 'Trivia Crack' and 'Crossy Road'. The point of the game is to not have your ball fall off the zigzag wall, and you move from side to side by tapping your screen. Along the wall are pink gems, which give you two points extra each one you collect. Your points add up by how many times you switch from side to side going up the wall. The controls are easy, but you have to have quick ref lexes, or you fall off the wall and you lose. It's like another new version of 'Flappy Bird', but more plain and a little less maddening. The design itself of the game is quite plain and boring; a blue wall that changes color every once in a while on a plain white background, and a black ball collecting pink gems. The only in-app purchases that you use the gems for are different colored balls, and it's pretty disappointing. Plus, all of them are the same price, so you buy them all out pretty quickly. Trying to play is also very frustrating. Like I said, you need to have fast ref lexes when moving because the path of the zigzags can be random and misleading. The quest itself in the game is also very straightforward; there's no leveling up or anything of the sort, which is also disappointing because it can get kind of tiresome. I have been playing this game for a couple of weeks, and while it was fun in the beginning, I'm slowly starting to lose interest. Yes, it can get addictive, but because of the bare looks of it, no checkpoints of any kind, and other sort of little things, it can get kind of tedious. All in all, it's a boring game with future hope for a better game to play. I hope that they update it with new things to buy or do, and fix the bugs that I'm starting to find, because I can see potential in this being a fun game in the future. 'Clue' is a 1985 comedy based on the 1960 Parker Brothers board game. The movie is set in 1954 New England when six strangers (Professor Plum, Mrs. Peacock, Mrs. White, Miss Scarlett, Colonel Mustard, and Mr. Green) are invited to a party at a strange mansion. In my opinion, that is kind of creepy, and I don't know why they would go there in the first place. They are met by the butler Wadsworth (Tim Curry), who reminds them that they have been given alias names to protect their true identity. After dinner, Wadsworth reveals the true nature of the party: all of the guests are being blackmailed. Wadsworth says he has gathered all the guests together to turn Mr. Boddy over to the police. Mr. Boddy offers them an alternative proposition: by using weapons he has provided (the wrench, the candlestick, the lead pipe, the knife, the revolver and the rope), they can kill Wadsworth and destroy the evidence. Sounds like a good deal, right? Mr. Boddy turns out the lights in the room, creating a moment of chaos. In that moment Mr. Boddy is pronounced dead. During the course of the evening, a total of six people are murdered. Wadsworth comes to the conclusion that he knows who the murderer is, but he keeps it a secret. In keeping with the nature of the board game, in the theatrical release, the movie was shown with one of three possible endings, with different theaters receiving each ending. This film is rated PG, and I believe that it is good for all ages. Although, there are some sexual references, alcohol and smoking, violence and gore, and some intense scenes. In my opinion, this movie is a classic. 'Clue' is the perfect film for any occasion. It is not just a game anymore… blog.gsmarena.com The movie 'Unfinished Business' is supposed to be a comedy about the hardworking business man, Dan Trunkman (Vince Vaughn), and his two associates who travel to Europe in an attempt close the most important deal of their lives, but it gets a little crazy. This film is extremely boring and I don't recommend spending money to go see it. It wasn't funny and it was poorly directed. The only time I ever Julissa Villalobos Staff Writer had a few laughs were when the younger associate, Mike Pancake played by Dave Franco, talked. He wasn't that funny either, the directors just made him out to be that overexposed, shallow minded, dumb friend who always messes things up for the other people involved. For example, the men travel from the States to Germany where the deal is supposed to be made and obviously they can't take a car, so Mike ends up renting a car that has a German speaking GPS. So when they try to drive to a specific place, they don't understand any of the directions. Dan then asks Mike why he paid for a car with GPS language that they can't u n d e r s t a n d and Mike gives the answer of, "Well don't you need it to have the German information in it? Like the German bridges and the German streets and such?" It's just ridiculous how m i n d le s s t h e d i r e c t or s made his character act, but it doesn't m a t t e r b e c a u s e t h e y end up w reck ing the car later on. Anyway, things are looking up with the deal and they celebrate with all the usual, cliche, we've-seen-this-before party scenes including drugs, alcohol, a bunch of teenagers/ young adults and, of course, the I-can't-remember-what- happened-last-night scenario that takes place in the morning. The movie also attempts to establish Dan as a loving father to his bullied kids, but their whole relationship just feels hollow and fake. He tries to be there for his kids, but his job barely allows it. The kids' mother seems like she can't handle the bullying because she's always trying to get Dan to talk to the kids. I mean, I get bullying is a big problem, but can't she just sit down and talk to her kids about it? Honestly, the trailer deceived me into thinking it was going to be a great movie, but it would've been better if it were left unreleased. intereseting trailer but has poor character development dissatisfaction among several audiences www.post-gazette.com
