RUBY CULBERTSON Ruby Irene Culbertson, age 91, of Forest City, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2015. Born September 1, 1923 in Rutherford County, NC, she was the seventh of nine children of the late John David Culbertson and Lucy Hogan Culbertson. Ruby was a graduate of Cool Springs High School and, was employed with Roses Department Store for over 50 years, and was a faithful member of the Florence Baptist Church, having been a member of the church choir, the Faith, Friendship & Hope, Sunday School Class and the Florence Senior Adults. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by three sis- ters and four brothers, Annie Culbertson Queen and husband Grady Queen, Ida Culbertson Hartselle and husband, Arthur Hartselle, Estelle Culbertson King and hus- band, Reverend R. Von King, Myles Culbertson, Reid Culbertson, James Culbertson and wife, Janet, Norris Culbertson, and two nephews. Surviving are her sister, Doris Culbertson Boring and her husband, Milton, of Winter Haven, Florida; two sisters-in- law, Dorothy Culbertson of Forest City, North Carolina, and Joan Culbertson of Virginia Beach, Virginia; three nieces and three neph- ews. Funeral services were held at the Florence Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Bobby Gantt, the Reverend Mike Dawson and the Reverend Dr. Brent Barker officiating. Interment followed in the Spindale City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County P.O. CYNTHIA ADAIR HARDIN Cynthia Adair Hardin, age 51, of Forest City, passed away Friday, February 13, 2015. Born in St. Johnsbury, VT, she was a daughter of Carlene Wright Adair and the late Joe Adair. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Forest City, worked as a CNA in home health care, and enjoyed attend- ing her grandchildren's sporting events. Survivors include her husband Howard Lee Hardin of the home; a son, Howard Lee Hardin II of Kingsport, TN; daughters, Brandy Wilson and Cristy Hardin, both of Forest City; a broth- er, Mark Adair of Hickory, NC; a sister, Sarah Adair of Forest City, and five grandchildren. A memorial service was held at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Neil Haynes offi- ciating. CHARLES TRUETT Charles William Truett, age 75, Rutherfordton, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2015. Charles was a native of Cherokee County, NC and son of the late Dallas Elijah Truett and Annie Mae Hembrie Truett. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and attended Wilson Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife Etta Rogers Truett; chil- dren DeWayne Truett of Forest City, Keith Truett of Oak Island, NC and Elizabeth Ann "Libby" Truett of Forest City; brother Leroy Truett of Blacksburg, SC and a sister Lorene Clark of Crouse, NC; 7 grandchil- dren and 5 great grand- children. Funeral services were held at Wilson Baptist Church with the Rev. Troy Dorsey, Rev. Wayne Toney and Rev. John Edwards officiat- ing. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
