For CBS's "Two and a Half Men," those four words could not be more appro- priate. For 12 seasons, it's been one of the biggest comedies on tele- vision, drawing praise — and ratings — from audiences and critics alike. On Thursday, Feb. 19, "Two and a Half Men" turns out the lights one last time with a special one-hour series finale. That the show has lasted this long is a testament to the quality of its writing and the skill of its stars at milking laughs. Through- out 2010, rumors swirled through the supermarket tab- loids that the show's star, Charlie Sheen ("Anger Management"), wasn't happy and that the fallout between him and executive pro- ducer Chuck Lorre eventually led to Sheen's departure. There were predictions that the show would be canceled without its star, or even simply die out. Luckily for its fans, though, this did not come to pass. As they say in show business, "the show must go on," and on it went. Ashton Kutcher ("That '70s Show") joined the cast alongside Jon Cryer ("Due Date," 2010), Angus T. Jones ("Bringing Down the House," 2003) and Conchata Ferrell ("Erin Brock- ovich," 2000). Jones left the show after the 10th season, with Amber Tamblyn ("Joan of Arca- dia") joining the cast the follow- ing season. You only live twice? It may even be so for Sheen's deceased character, Charlie Harper. As of press time, reports are circulating that the actor is in discussions to return for the final episode of the series. Considering that Harper died following Sheen's departure from the show, a second life would be a charming end to a legendary comedy. "Two and a Half Men" airs its last-ever episode Thursday, Feb. 19, on CBS. Straight to stardom: Pilots. They're one of the biggest, one of the most important gears in the network television machine.
