"Dub" Dellinger Age 95 My Carnal Mind As a small child growing up in a wicked world seeing all the things that happen, never one time giving thought to or knowing why. You could always hear, just meaness in people. We learned to judge how mean a person was by the extent of the crime they committed. We heard about George Washington who is suppose to have said (I can not tell a lie, I did it with my hatchet), and we were told to always be like him. About this time we heard and read about Joseph how he was sold down into Egypt and there were mean men who would sell their brother for money. As we grow older, we begin to wonder where this mean thing came from. We were surprised when we came to realize that we had inherited it. This mean thing was against us going to Heaven. We through the help of our God can con- trol it, if we ask him to. We know for sure that we don't have to act like some people because we are trusting in a living God to help. I presently feel better about myself and now I know that I have the power to control my life, with God's help, I don't have to take part in all this meaness I hear and see going on. I am learning more and more each day how to put my trust in God. I often turn to my bible. I read where a man named Paul said that a carnal mind was an enemy against God and can not please God. You have to have the spirit of God in you to control your mind in the right way. There is only one spirit. Thanks to a true and living God we can choose the one we want. There are only four books of the bible that speak of carnal. In Romans 7:14 Paul says "For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin." and Romans 8:7 "Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be." Paul also wrote in 1 Cor. 3:2 "I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able." He also says you can pull down the strongholds by serving the right spirit. Paul wrote after the similitude of Melchisedec (There arose another Priest who is made not after the law of carnal. After the power of an endless life.) The law made no one perfect. Righteousness could be accounted to a person. These were carnal ordinanc- es imposed on them until the reformation. Christ is now Lord because of his resurrec- tion. Where do we live today?
