11 A ABOUT THE JUDGES David Bonnesar David has more than 40 years of software engineering experience. For more than 20 years he has been a Las Vegas businessman, who owns and operates BONN Corporation. BONN is a software engineering company that supports the Aerospace industry and the Department of Defense. BONN became a pioneer in design and development of operational low observable mission/strike planning systems. He is a member of UNLV Board of Advisors for the Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering and a member of UNLV Board of Advisors for the School of Computer Science. He also serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the Monterrey Homeowners Association and is a member of NDIA and the Association of Old Crows. Peter Fiala Peter is owner of Las Vegas-based Project Management consulting firm Fiala Project Resources and is a PMI-Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with more than 20 years of industry experience. He is an active supporter of the Southern Nevada Project Management Institute, and the UNLV MIS, Informatics and Computer Science departments and their respective Advisory Committees. In addition to staffing and managing Nevada projects through FPR, Peter also teaches the undergraduate level Project Management course (INF320) for the UNLV College of Engineering. His interactive classes incorporate local business leaders to educate, motivate and mentor the next generation of Las Vegas leaders on the industry standard best practices of Project Management. Frank Yoder Frank is the founder and president of Advanced Information Systems. He is a self-made successful entrepreneur who has acquired more than 25 years of IT experience and knowledge. His level of expertise in these areas enables him to lead Advanced Information Systems in providing a professional and experienced approach to solving customer needs. Prior to founding Advanced Information Systems, Frank held key leadership and management positions with other successful consulting firms within the IT field. He is no stranger to the "long term gain" approach of problem solving, rather than the "quick fix" or "band aid" approach. He is the chair of the UNLV Computer Science Advisory Council, a member of the UNLV College of Engineering Advisory Council and a member of Success Group International. Roger Paul Roger is a senior partner at Wyvern Consulting LLC, and has more than 35 years of technical and leadership training experience. Roger has worked extensively with companies ranging from small startups to Fortune 500 companies, including 20 years in the telecommunications industry. In his role with Wyvern Consulting, Roger provides professional development programs with an emphasis on technical and leadership development. He has been a member of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers since 1990. Roger is serving as chair of the 2012 SCTE National Leadership Conference. Roger has served on SCTE's National Operations Committee since 2004, and served on the National Board as SCTE Region 1 Director in 2006/2007. Mark Newburn Mark is founder and owner of Vizics Inc., a small software company serving the Department of Defense intelligence community. He has more than 30 years of experience in the areas of software development, computer graphics and virtual reality. Mark has worked for some of the top commercial technology companies in America including Silicon Graphics Inc, where he specialized in large-scale virtual reality systems. He is the current chair of the UNLV School of Computer Science Industry Advisory Board, where he co-founded UNLV's first scholarship in Computer Science.
