A few per- fectly cam- bered turns and nine miles later, you’ll pull into the W ildwood Store – about 55 miles into 36W, but if you ask owner Andrew Boehm, he’ll tell you he’s right where he needs to be.
– first to a false summit that will take you down the road, with terrific views of the turns to come, to the Beegum Creek cross- ing. That’s when you and your ride will crank it up.
Next stop is Platina and the Platina Store, which offers a bite and something to quench your thirst. Platina Road will steer you to Igo, home of the Northern California Veterans Cemetery, a worth- while side trip if you have the time. But the best of what 36W has in store is still to come. Regular grade gas is available and the store is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week.
