I have served under seven Sheriff's and served in several positions including supervisory positions. I am a past Director of the 911 Center. Past member of the North Carolina Homicide Investigators Association. I will be a working Sheriff and will be out in the communities. I am a past Chairman of the Region 'C' Committee that consist of four Counties, Rutherford, McDowell, Cleveland and Polk. I am also a United States Navy Veteran; I served as a Quartermaster and a Division Master at Arms on the USS LAWRENCE DDG-4 and was a Petty Offi cer in charge of the Navigation Division. I plan on restructuring the Sheriff's Offi ce to put more offi cers out on the road working which would increase the number from 6 to 7 offi cers on each road crew. I plan on creating a Burglary Task Force that will allow more Detectives to work Property Crimes which consist of Breaking and Entering. I plan on working toward getting a new Animal Shelter built and having a committee in place to come up with ideas to work toward a NO KILL Shelter. I too am a pet owner and love animals.
