WE'RE RAISING A COLD ONE TO YOU, SARAH! Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino congratulates Sarah Johnson, Director of Food & Beverage and Certified Cicerone ® , for being named as one of the 2014 Women to Watch. Cheers! E ileen Moore, one of only three female casino presidents on the Las Vegas Strip, has – as they say – a lot on her plate for 2014. Among the properties that she oversees are the Flamingo, the Quad and the $185-million Bill's Development on the Strip. Caesars Entertainment will be investing approximately $1 billion on the east side of the strip in the Linq, High Roller, Quad, Flamingo and Bill's projects. Indeed, in 2014, her operations are expected to grow tremendously with the capture of a portion of the estimated 20 million pedestrians who will visit this new hospitality corridor. It's estimated that as many as 2,500 jobs will be added in this zone. The Strip's first stand-alone boutique hotel will occupy the former site of Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Saloon at the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road. The goal is to set a new standard on the Strip with 188 rooms and suites, a luxurious casino, the first restaurant concept from chef and television personality Giada De Laurentiis and a 65,000-square-foot rooftop pool beach club and nightclub by Victor Drai. The year just ended was one of "transitioning," says Moore, who returned to Las Vegas in August (she was based here from 1999-2006). "It feels a little bit like coming home." The role she will play during the year ahead excites her. "It's great to see what I view as a rebound coming into 2014. I believe that we will start to see business increase. We see it a little bit with groups, as well as individual tourists coming back. And certainly from a global perspective, we're looking to see a lot more international travelers." Moore's greatest accomplishment this year may well be "providing 2,500 awesome individuals with brand new jobs. It's just such an honor to be able to be in a business that is growing by leaps and bounds. It is really exciting to be part of such a big influx of growth and really in a short amount of time. We already started the hiring process for some of the businesses on the Linq and the High Roller, and that will take us through the first six months of 2014." — By Howard Riell EilEEn MoorE Regional President and General Manager Caesars Entertainment A s a marketing and communications professional, New Jersey native Joanna DiNatale understands the value of networking and establishing lasting relationships, as well as the inherent significance of community outreach. Having moved to Clark County from Chicago in 2009, DiNatale gained marketing experience at both Metro PCS and the Riviera Hotel before assuming her current role as director of marketing and PR at Clear Channel Media + Entertainment Las Vegas, whose three local radio stations – KPLV-My 93.1, KSNE-Sunny 106.5 and KWNR-95.5 The Bull – reach more than 1 million Southern Nevada listeners each week. Working tirelessly, DiNatale uses her communications savvy to focus largely on philanthropy and has some specific objectives in mind for 2014, including the expansion of CCLV's relationship with the Shade Tree women and children's shelter, a connection that DiNatale forged last year with two small-scale benefit concerts. "This year, our cluster is the official media partner for the Shade Tree's April 26 Walk of Hope, a 3.1-mile family and pet walk/run to benefit the shelter as well as the organization's Noah's Animal House pet sanctuary," DiNatale said, adding that other Shade Tree partner events are in the works for this year, but have yet to be locked in. In 2014, DiNatale also intends to continue to strengthen and grow partnerships with other local organizations, such as the Rape Crisis Center, Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada and Opportunity Village, with which Sunny 106.5 has a strong bond, having helped raise annual awareness of OV events such as the Great Santa Run and Magical Forest. "Another passion is St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and on a national level, the country music industry is a big supporter," DiNatale said. "This year, KWNR-95.5 The Bull will be a part of the Country Cares for St. Jude Kids, one of the most successful fundraising radio events in America. Since the program began in 1989, radio stations across the country have participated and raised $200 million in pledges for the kids at St. Jude. The Bull will be partnering with our morning show, the Bobby Bones Show, which is syndicated out of Nashville, and we're also always looking for any other way to raise money locally for St. Jude." — By Danielle Birkin Joanna DinatalE Director of Marketing and Public Relations Clear Channel Media + Entertainment Las Vegas WOMEN TO WATCH 2014 _WomenToWatch_020314.indd 6 1/30/14 2:18 PM
