Johnson said when choosing a design scheme, people should look at whether or not they can get more than one use from something. "Think of purchasing items that can be used through multiple seasons by tweaking the look slightly," she said. "If the budget is tight, look for classics." Johnson said her services include working on remodeling projects, new construction, and offering design services which include recommendations for purchasing furniture, accessories, window treatments and all selections for the interior. "When you redesign, remodel or update your home, you can expect snags to cause setbacks," she said. "This is an industry that is dependent upon a lot of moving parts and pieces to all come together. A person needs to keep a sense of humor and roll with it. The worst thing anyone can do is to plan a party or social event around a remodel."
