Neal Senior Center Donations A Special Thanks to all our friends whose support and concern is evident through the many gifts of time, money and resources. Continuous cuts over the years from federal funding sources make contributions more important than ever before. Your contributions make the difference each year in our operating budget and our ability to serve our older-adult community. Planned gifts are a meaningful way to show your interest and concern for the growing population of older adults in this community. A planned gift is one decided by you while you are alive to benefit the living after the death of the donor. The gift lives on, an enduring expression of love for our fellowman. Demonstrating your love and support may be done in several ways: •In the form of a Bequest: I give, devise, and bequeath to the Council on Aging/Senior Center, Inc. 100 T.R. Harris Dr., Shelby, NC 28150, the sum of $___________, (or describe personal property to be used by the Council on Aging/Senior Center at their discretion.)" •Gift of Life Insurance: A gift of this nature may be made by designating the Council on Aging/Senior Center as contingent beneficiary, or by assigning ownership of an insurance policy to the Council on Aging of Cleveland County/ Senior Center, Inc. •In Honor or Memory of Friends or Loved Ones: Cards are sent notifying family members of contributions, ( June 16-July 15 2013) DONATIONS Jude & Rebecca Whelan A. As the cost of living increases, their check doesn't increase at the same rate so they don't always have the resources to feed themselves or their families adequately. That is why the food pantry exists- to aid those who need food, especially on an emergency basis. We want to make sure that our seniors have the food they need to sustain themselves, so we are always seeking donations to help the seniors who use our pantry. During these hard economic times, the number of people who need the food pantry keeps increasing. That is why we are always grateful to receive donations of the following items that are always in need: canned meat, canned fruit, fruit juice boxes, canned and bottles, small jars of jelly, macaroni & cheese, peanut butter, canned soups, cracker, boxed pasta dishes, pasta, rice, boxed rice dishes, canned vegetables, small jar of mayonnaise, cooking oil, cereal, breakfast food, small cans of coffee, small boxes of tea, sugar, boxed milk or power, paper towels, toilet paper. We are also asking for donations of personal care items. Often, people who need food are also in need of other basic items for their daily personal needs. These items include: razors (men/women),shaving cream, aftershave, deodorant, soap, lotion, tissues, laundry & dish detergent, trash bags, shampoo, toothbrushes and toothpaste, denture tablets and adhesive. There are numerous opportunities for groups or individuals to help the Pantry. Remember us if you are conducting a food drive. Please contact the Service department.
