When the childcare center opened they were full within 3 months. They realized quite early that they would have to expand to be able to serve the community with the increasing need for childcare. After 3 years of expanding their services as much as they could in their current location, they knew they had to build in order to increase their program. Construction began to build the new facility for the St John's Early Childhood Center. On September 8th 2013 at 11:00am St John's will dedicate the new building as well as change the name. From that time on they will be known as St John's Early Childhood Rudolf at anytime with questions about the programs offered or an individual tour. Entertainment in Old Settler's Park & on North Main Street 232433006 I n August of 2003 St John's Lutheran Church was looking for another source of income to supplement the rising cost of tuition at their school. They made a decision to increase the services of their children's ministries. They accomplished this by opening up Circle of Friends Early Childhood Center. Not only did this bring in another source of income but it enabled them to serve the population of West Bend in yet another way. St John's Lutheran Church has a mission statement that states that their goal is to "help, teach & assist through connecting, sharing and caring through Christ." Circle of Friends was another way for them to assist the community and accomplish this goal. They became aware of an increasing need for parents to find childcare for their children. Circle of Friends was started to provide childcare to area families that was based on Christian values. The childcare center offers early childhood classes with or without extended care for infants through K-4. They also offer before and after school care for school age children through age 12. In the summer they also have programs for kindergarten. A typical daily schedule includes: ALL Pre K3 and Pre K4 *Creative Free Play *Jesus Time *Group Activity & Projects *Letter/Number Recognition *Writing Skills/Development *Math/Science Skills *Gym Time/Physical Development *Snack times *Lunch (extended care only) *Rest Time (extended care only) 1-2 year olds *Free Play *Jesus Time *Speech/Social Development *Gym Time/Physical Development *Group Activities & Projects *Snack Times or Lunch *Rest Time One thing that Cheryl Rudolf, Director of Children's ministries emphasizes is communication within the program and with the parents. Rudolf says their job is to, "assist parents in providing a loving, nurturing environment for children while their parents are at work." They emphasize a partnership with parents to provide consistency for the kids. They have an open door policy. Parents are encouraged to stop in any time or call to check on their children. The St John's Early Childhood Center is open year round Monday through Friday 6:30am-6pm. They offer very flexible scheduling. They require a 3 day commitment whether it's half time or full time.
