10 ENTERTAINMENT EXTRA By Raye Smith TV Media WHAT'S NEW ON APPLE TV+ "The Last Thing He Told Me" Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Laura Dave, the new, seven-part limited series, "The Last Thing He Told Me," follows the journey of a mother and stepdaugh- ter as they are brought together by terrifying circumstances. The series premieres its first two episodes Friday, April 14, with episodes airing weekly on Fridays thereafter. "The Last Thing He Told Me" stars Jen- nifer Garner ("Alias") as Hannah, a woman whose life is upended when her husband, Owen (Nikolaj Coster- Waldau, "Game of Thrones"), mys- teriously goes missing. Left behind with nothing but a note to protect her 16-year-old stepdaughter, Bailey (Angourie Rice, "Mare of East- town"), who wants nothing to do with her, the pair slowly grow closer as they work to find out what really happened to Owen. Adapted for the screen by Dave, the series is execu- tive produced by Hello Sunshine's Reese Witherspoon ("Wild," 2014) and Lauren Neustadter ("Little Fires Everywhere"). "The Last Thing He Told Me" also stars Aisha Tyler ("Criminal Minds"), Augusto Agu- ilera ("Too Old to Die Young"), Geoff Stults ("Guilty Party") and John Harlan Kim ("9-1-1"). WHAT'S NEW ON NETFLIX "The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die" (2023) The epic saga of "The Last King- dom" wraps up with the follow-up film, "The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die," when it premieres on Netflix Friday, April 14. Based on the Saxon Stories series of novels by Bernard Cornwell, "The Last King- dom" is set in England in the first century, as a century-long war has raged through the land between its inhabitants and the Danish invad- ers, with a tentative peace settled between nearly everyone — except Lord Uhtred of Bebbanburg (Alex- ander Dreymon, "American Horror Story"), ruling over Northumbria, who has yet to pledge his land to the throne. But, when King Edward (Timothy Innes, "Harlots") dies, the peace is threatened once again as his two potential heirs, Aethelstan (Harry Gilby, "Tolkien," 2019) and Aelfweard (Ewan Horrocks, "Do- mina"), battle to claim the crown. Faced with difficult decisions about the future of the country, Uhtred and his cohort embark on a journey across the country in the hopes of uniting England at last. Directed by Edward Bazalgette ("Marie Antoinette") with a screenplay by executive producer Martha Hillier ("Vera"), "The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die" is produced by Mat Chaplin ("Fortitude"), Nigel March- ant ("Downton Abbey") and Gareth Neame ("The Gilded Age"). WHAT'S NEW ON HULU "Am I Being Unreasonable?" - Season 1 The hit BBC comedy thriller series "Am I Being Unreasonable?" makes its leap across the pond and onto Hulu Tuesday, April 11. Daisy May Cooper ("This Country") stars as Nic, who is grieving a loss she can't share with anyone else while stuck in a depressing marriage, with only her son, Ollie (Lenny Rush, "Apple Tree House"), keeping her going. But when she finds a kindred spirit in Jen (Selin Hizli, "Grantchester"), a new arrival to town, Nic soon finds her dark secret starting to bubble up. Created and written by stars Cooper and Hizli, "Am I Being Unreason- able?" is directed by Jonny Campbell ("Informer"). The series also stars Dustin Demri-Burns ("Slow Hors- es"), Karla Crome ("Misfits"), Ruben Catt ("Maxxx," 2020), David Fynn ("The Pembrokeshire Murders"), Samuel Bottomley ("Ackley Bridge"), Yohanna Ephrem ("The Rook"), Amanda Wilkin ("Finding Alice") and Juliet Cowan ("Cuckoo"). WHAT'S NEW ON DISNEY+ "Rennervations" - Season 1 Embracing his lifelong passion for giving back, actor Jeremy Renner ("Hawkeye") is helping to better communities around the world in the new four-part series "Rennervations," which makes its Disney+ premiere Wednesday, April 12. Reimagining unique, purpose-built vehicles to meet a community's particular needs, the series goes behind the scenes as Renner, a construction veteran, his best friend and business part- ner, Rory Millikin, and an all-star construction crew travel the globe hoping to make life a little easier everywhere they go. Throughout the series, the team turns a tour bus into a mobile music studio, a delivery truck into a mobile water treatment facility, a shuttle bus into a mobile recreation center, and a city bus into a mobile dance studio, while special celebrity guests Anthony Mackie ("The Falcon and the Winter Soldier"), Vanessa Hudgens ("Tick, Tick… Boom!" 2021), Anil Kapoor ("Slumdog Millionaire," 2008) and Sebastián Yatra ("Encanto," 2021) join in to help out along the way.
