12|Diversity Rules Magazine | Apr 2023 Migguel Anggelo is a Venezuelan-American singer- songwriter, mul disciplinary performing ar st and countertenor, dancer, actor and painter. His work explores the intersec ons of his queer, La no and immigrant iden es using music, physical theater, dance, text and costume. As a theater creator, he has been awarded residencies to develop new works at MASS MoCA, the Kimmel Center, the Miami Light Project and beyond. La nXoxo is Migguel Anggelo's nonconforming and self-accep ng rallying cry: a break from "La n Lover" clichés and his own Venezuelan father's gendered expecta ons. With indelible precision, weaving in and out of the audience, the ar st connects past and present while unraveling the stereotypes that would otherwise constrain him. La nXoxo was designed to immerse an audience in a highly personal story. It is an ar ul collage of theater, queer comedy, physical movement, and sumptuous song selec ons. The mu- sical repertoire spans decades of pop hits, his own original composi ons, and the Spanish boleros that defined his youth. La nXoxo arrives in Salt Lake City, West Palm Beach, Miami Beach, and Stanford this spring. A full i nerary is below. La nXoxo runs 70 minutes and is performed in Eng- lish and Spanish. The show was conceived by Migguel Anggelo; book by C. Julian Jiménez; musical direc- on by Jaime Lozano; direc on by Adrian Alexander Alea.
