The series was created in 1992, born from a passion for acoustic music and intelligent and entertaining songwriting. It is an all-volunteer organization, with all proceeds going to artist fees and operating expenses. Concerts The are held at the Unitarian Church- North, 13800 N. Port Washington Road, Mequon. Here are the upcoming events and links to tickets and more information about the artist: Sunday, April 16: Tom Paxton, Jon Vezner and Don Henry Paxton embodies the spirit of folk spirit, according to the event information. He writes stirring songs of social protest and gentle songs of love, each woven together with his personal gift for language. Vezner was honored with a Grammy for Best Country Song and the Nashville Songwriters Association Song of the Year in 1990, for "Where've You Been," the true story of Vezners grandparents, co-written with Don Henry and recorded by Kathy Mattea. "Where've You Been" was also honored as Song of the Year by the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music. Grammy Award winner Henry's songs have been recorded by legends like Ray Charles, Patti Page and Conway Twitty; country crooners like Gene Watson, John Conlee and B.J. Saturday, April 29: David Roth Roth strikes many chords, hearts and minds with his unique songs, offbeat observations, moving stories, sense of the hilarious and powerful singing and subject matter, according to the event information. As singer, songwriter, recording artist, keynote speaker, workshop leader and instructor, Roth has earned top honors at premier songwriter competitions Kerrville, Texas, and Falcon Ridge, New York. https://bpt.me/5639952. Saturday, May 13: Katie Dahl Though she's particularly well-respected on her home turf of Door County, Dahl tours regularly and has earned accolades nationwide for the depth and power of her alto voice, the literate candor of her songs and the easy humor of her live performances. In 2015, Dahl's song "Crowns" hit No. 1 on the folk radio charts. Her musical play "Victory Farm" premiered to high acclaim in 2012 and has since been made into a live cast album. https://bpt.me/5638245.
