Entertainment Now | February 25 - March 3, 2023 By Raye Smith TV Media WHAT'S NEW ON DISNEY+ "The Madalorian" - Season 3 The force is strong on Disney+ once again, as the long-awaited third season of "The Mandalorian" premieres Wednesday, March 1. Episodes are set to air weekly on the streaming platform. The jour- neys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars galaxy continue in this new season, with the bounty hunter, Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal, "The Last of Us"), reunited with Grogu (affectionately known by the internet as "Baby Yoda"). As the pair cross paths with old allies and make new enemies on their journey, the New Republic strug- gles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history. With the writing team led once again by series cre- ator Jon Favreau ("Chef," 2014), "The Mandalorian's" eight-epi- sode third season is directed by Rick Famuyiwa ("Dope," 2015), Rachel Morrison ("Black Panther," 2018), Lee Isaac Chung ("Minari," 2020), Carl Weathers ("Rocky," 1976), Peter Ramsey ("Spider- Man: Into the Spider-Verse," 2018) and Bryce Dallas Howard ("Juras- sic World," 2015). WHAT'S NEW ON NETFLIX "Cheat" - Season 1 Fake it till you make it with the brand-new British game show, "Cheat," when it makes its debut Wednesday, March 1, on Netflix. Li- ars and trivia masters are on equal footing in this series, as contes- tants use everything in their arse- nal to take home a hefty cash prize. The stakes are high, as four players put their knowledge to the test across three rounds of competi- tion. It may pay to know the an- swers, but for those who don't, it pays to cheat — as long as they don't get caught. Hosted by Danny Dyer ("EastEnders") and Ellie Tay- lor ("Ted Lasso"), "Cheat" is based on an original idea by Giles Boden and developed for television by Boden, Laura Gibson and Charlie Bennett, all of whom are writers on "Alan Carr's Epic Gameshow." The series comes from Talkback pro- ductions. "Next in Fashion" - Season 2 Keep ahead of the trends with the hit Netflix series "Next in Fashion" when it premieres its second season Friday, March 3. British designer and "Queer Eye" star Tan France returns to host once again, this time with super- model Gigi Hadid by his side. Across 10 new episodes, Tan and Gigi guide 12 incredibly talented designers through some tough fashion challenges, as they prove their design chops and compete for the opportunity to showcase their boldest looks on a global stage — and the chance to walk away with $200,000. Coming in with brands of their own already established, the competition is tight as they all look to bring their brands further into the pub- lic eye. The series comes from ex- ecutive producers Robin Ash- brook and Yasmin Shackleton (both of "MasterChef USA") and co-executive producer Adam Cooper ("So You Think You Can Dance"). "Sex/Life" - Season 2 The saga of life and love contin- ues when Season 2 of the dramedy series "Sex/Life" premieres Thurs- day, March 2, on Netflix. The series continues to map Billie Connelly's (Sarah Shahi, "Alias") shifting con- nection to her family, her past — including her devastatingly hand- some ex, Brad (Adam Demos, "A Perfect Pairing," 2022) — and her future. The new season will also ex- pand on the escapades of Billie's fiercely independent best friend, Sasha Snow (Margaret Odette, "Boogie," 2021). As these high- powered women take life by the horns, they attempt to keep some balance in their lives as they work to find personal fulfilment. Created by Stacy Rukeyser ("UnREAL"), the series also stars Mike Vogel ("The Help," 2011), Jonathan Sadowski ("Young & Hungry"), Li Jun Li ("Babylon," 2022), Samy Osman ("Newborn," 2018) and new tal- ents Phoenix Reich and Sofia Ga- lasso. "Love at First Kiss" (2023) Fall in love with the future with the release of the new Spanish rom-com "Love at First Kiss," when it premieres Friday, March 3, on Netflix. At 16 years old, Javier (Ál- varo Cervantes, "Hanna," 2011) kissed a girl for the first time and learned that with just one kiss, he can see his entire future with someone. Growing up being able to see the inevitable demise of his own relationships, Javier is jaded and has never been in a lasting re- lationship, always making sure to end them before things start to go wrong. However, everything changes the night he kisses Lucía (Silvia Alonso, "Mirage," 2018) and sees them happy, married and with children. He sees his happy ending, but there's one important thing standing in his way: Lucía is his best friend's girlfriend. Directed by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa ("Lullaby," 2022), "Love at First Kiss is written by "Reyes de la noche's" Cristóbal Garrido and Adolfo Valor.
