The meet- ing was opened by Regent Kris Lutz. Whitney Mayer re- quested that the Circle order rosaries for the women's Wel- come Weekend and this was approved. The D of I Indiana State Regent, Mar y Seibert, sent a reminder that the State Con- vention will be April 21-23 in Nashville, Ind. Those wishing to attend should contact Kris Lutz. Thank-you cards were received from D of I mem- bers who received poinsettias, cards, and visits at Christmas time. Father Tyler Tenbarge sent a thank you from the House of Discernment for a recent donation. A hand-made card was received from The Lord's Pantr y thanking the Circle for a donation. And Fa- ther Andrew Thomas thanked the Circle for his Christmas gift. Sue Alston reported send- ing a birthday card to Marie Friedman. Becky Mayer, Kris Lutz, Bobbie Biggs and Joanie Ambrose visited shut-in D of I members on December 13. Christmas poinsettias and cards signed by many D of I members were delivered to: Irma Rexing, Arliene Steckler, Beverly Kruse, Doris Welte, Rosie Bullock, Jane Greubel. Becky Siewers led the prayers and read a spiritu- al reflection on Christ's life, death, and resurrection. Let Christ guide our lives as we share His Love for us, accept our crosses in life, and ask for courage each day. The com- mittee ser ved desserts and beverages. The half pot was won by Linda Kissel with the rest donated to St. Elizabeth/ Coleman for pregnancy-aid. Send the details to editor@sgstartimes.com BRIEFLY Sheriff's Merit Board reorganizes Gibson County Sheriff's Merit Board met on Tuesday, Januar y 17. The Board is made up of five members, three of whom are selected by the Sheriff and two are voted on by the Deputies. This committee meets monthly and makes decisions pertaining to standard operating proce- dures, hiring and disciplinar y actions. At the recent meeting, board members elected Bruce Adams as President and Joe Maxey as Secretar y. Other members of the Merit Board are Jon Adams, Jennifer MacKay and William George. The 2023 meetings will be on the second Tuesday of ever y month at noon in the Gibson County Community Corrections Conference room, located at 112 E. Emerson Street, Princeton, Indiana. Community invited to Adopt-a-Plot L yles Station Historic School and Museum announced a new way to help beautify and maintain one of Gibson County's historic sites. The Adopt-A-Plot program offers individuals or groups the option to plant/maintain select- ed garden areas on the museum grounds. Small signs may be displayed alongside each area recognizing the "adopters" or a designated family, business, church, club, or in-memoriam. A variety of spaces are available. Library trustees meet Oakland City - Columbia Township Public Librar y Board of Trustees Finance Committee will meet on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 3:45 p.m. The regularly called meeting of the Board of Trustees will take place at 4 p.m. or the conclusion of the finance committee meeting. The Board of Trustees for Oakland City-Columbia Township Public Librar y will continue to meet at 4 p.m. on the sec- ond Wednesday of ever y month as the dates for their regular monthly board meetings. Dine-In and Carr y-Out options available. Holy Cross School, 202 S. Church St., Fort Branch. LOuWaNNa J. JINeS Louwanna J. Jines, 80, of Paoli went to be with the Lord January 26, 2023. She was born October 20, 1942 in Princeton to the late Herman Kemper and Thelda Love- less. Louwanna graduated from Princeton High School then served as a homemak- er. A fter retirement age she worked at WorkOne un- der Green Thumb. Louwan- na was a lifetime member of the VFW auxiliary, Ameri- can Legion, Eagles, Red Hat Society, and Princeton artist guild. She was a member of Bethel Memorial Church in Princeton then after moving to Paoli attended Paoli Chris- tian Church. Louwanna en- joyed painting and adored ani- mals, especially dogs. She was loved by many and will deeply be missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, James A. Patterson; second husband, David Jines, infant daughter, Tricia Leah Patter- son; daughter, Tracy Brown; and siblings, Donald "Bud" Kemper, Harold Kemper, Gin- ny Mercer, Joan Bullock, Shir- ley Reno, and Mary Wright. Louwanna is survived by her daughter, Tonia ( Joe Jr.) Hedge; grandchildren, Wil- liam Brown III, Elizabeth Brown, Joshua Brown, Mela- nie (Erik) Sanders, and Alli- son Hedge; great grandson, Josh Brown Jr.; siblings, Mar- lene Wirth and Peggy Forgy; and son-in-law, Bill Brown Jr. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 am until service time. There will be a graveside service follow- ing, at Owensville Cemetery in Owensville. Hulfachor, 68, of Fort Branch, passed away at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh on Januar y 19. She was born to he late Paul and Lillian (Kolley) McIntire on September 26, 1954, in Princeton. Sharon retired from Mid- States Rubber Product after 30 years of ser vice. She graduated from Fort Branch High School and married her loving husband David Hulfachor on August 4, 1988. In her free time, Sharon enjoyed watching WWE wres- tling, which she was a huge fan of. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant brother. Sharon is sur vived by her loving husband of 34 years, David Hulfachor of Fort Branch; children, Mike Har - vey of Fort Branch, Scott (Aymee) Har vey of Evansville, and Paul (Jim) Bilskie of Indi- anapolis; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Maddy Har vey; and a sis- ter, Marilyn (Grimm "Chip") Bright of Fort Branch. Funeral ser vices were Jan- uar y 23, at 1 p.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch with Pastor Matt Presley offi- ciating. NOrMa JeaN HaSSeLBrINCK Norma Jean Hasselbrinck, 80, of Princeton passed away at Transcedent HealthCare in Owensville on her 80th birth- day, Januar y 26. She was born to the late James and Kathr yn (Sullivan) Collins on Januar y 26, 1943, in Princeton. Norma was a member of St. Lucas United Church of Christ in Fort Branch. She graduat- ed from Princeton Community High School in 1961 and mar- ried her loving husband, Da- vid, on May 31, 1964. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed needle point, embroider y, and cross stitch. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Lee. Norma is sur vived by her loving husband of 58 years, David Hasselbrinck of Princ- eton; son, Danny (Bonnie) Hasselbrinck of Princeton; siblings, Jim (Sheri) Collins of Princeton and Kathr yn (Eu- gene) Johnson of Princeton; and four grandchildren. Funeral ser vices will be on Tuesday, Januar y 31 at 10 a.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch with Pastor John Heumann officiating. SNOW Continued from page 1 children of their own, they monitor their students' on- line work and the online assignments of their chil- dren, simultaneously. Unfor tunately, Wednes- day's snow was not the kind to be played in and enjoyed. Rather, it was a sloppy, muddy mess. However, it was an unexpected day away from the usual Mon- day-Friday grind. Hopeful- ly, there was time for stu- dents to rest and unwind a little, perhaps catch up on some much-needed sleep, and of course, plen- ty of time to work on those e-learning assignments.
