With higher interest rates possi- bly altering the calculation for some buyers and following pan- demic shifts in how work is con- ducted for others, how are home trends evolving? Toby Van Sistine, the director of government affairs for the Metro- politan Builders Association, said homeowners looking to moderate their budgets can find inspiration within luxury trends. "There are different pieces you can pull out and make your own," he said, recommending that home- owners talk to builders for ideas related to their specific project and budget. Van Sistine noted that events like the recent Parade of Homes often feature higher-end components because builders like to show off everything they can offer in those settings. The MBA's Parade of Homes ran from mid-August through Labor Day and featured 15 homes on two sites in the Town of Lisbon and the Village of Merton, according to the Metropolitan Builder's Association website.
