10 ENTERTAINMENT EXTRA By Raye Smith TV Media WHAT'S NEW ON DISNEY+ "Hocus Pocus 2" (2022) Grab your popcorn and hide away the children for the Friday, Sept. 30, premiere of "Hocus Pocus 2," the haunting new sequel to the 1993 Halloween classic. It's been 29 years since the Black Flame Candle has been lit, and now that it has, the three resurrected 17th-century sister witches are back in modern-day Salem, Massachusetts, looking for revenge. Now, it's up to high school - ers Becca (Whitney Peak, "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina") and Izzy (Belissa Escobedo, "American Horror Stories"), who accidentally conjured the Sanderson Sisters, along with their friend Cassie (Lilia Buckingham, "Crown Lake"), to figure out how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking havoc on the world. Bring - ing back their special brand of come- dic mayhem, Bette Midler ("The First Wives Club," 1996), Sarah Jessica Parker ("Sex and the City") and Kathy Najimy ("Sister Act," 1992) re- turn to their roles as the delightfully wicked Sanderson sisters, Winifred, Sarah and Mary. Directed by Anne Fletcher ("27 Dresses," 2008) and written by Jen D'Angelo ("Worka- holics"), the film also stars Doug Jones ("The Shape of Water," 2017), Hannah Waddingham ("Ted Lasso"), Tony Hale ("Arrested Develop- ment"), Sam Richardson ("Veep"), Taylor Henderson ("Earwig and the Witch," 2020), Juju Journey Brener ("Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs," 2019) and new talent Nina Kitchen. WHAT'S NEW ON NETFLIX "Blonde" (2022) Dive into the life of one of Holly- wood's greatest icons when the new biographical, psychological drama film "Blonde" premieres Wednesday, Sept. 28, on Netflix. Based on the biographical fiction novel of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates, "Blonde" is a bold reimagining of the life of legendary Hollywood star Marilyn Monroe (portrayed in the film by Anna de Armas, "Knives Out," 2019), looking at the divide between her private life and her pub- lic persona. From her volatile child- hood all the way through her rise to stardom, the film blurs the lines between fact and fiction to bring the unforgettable woman to life. Writ- ten for the screen and directed by Andrew Dominik ("Chopper," 2000), the film also stars Bobby Cannavale ("Nine Perfect Strangers"), Adrien Brody ("The Grand Budapest Hotel," 2014), Julianne Nicholson ("August: Osage County," 2013), Xavier Sam- uel ("Elvis," 2022), Evan Williams ("Versailles"), Lucy DeVito ("Dead- beat"), Garrett Dillahunt ("Fear the Walking Dead"), Sara Paxton ("The Innkeepers," 2011) and Scoot McNairy ("Argo," 2012). "Blonde" comes from producers Dede Gardner ("Moonlight," 2016), Jeremy Kleiner ("If Beale Street Could Talk," 2018), Tracey Landon ("Sextuplets," 2019), Brad Pitt ("Moneyball," 2011) and Scott Robertson ("American Crime Story"). WHAT'S NEW ON HULU "Reasonable Doubt" - Season 1 Take the law into your own hands with the series premiere of "Rea- sonable Doubt," making its debut Monday, Sept. 26, on Hulu. Known to be the most brilliant and fearless defense attorney in Los Angeles, Jax Stewart (Emayatzy Corinealdi, "Hand of God") plays by her own set of rules, bucking the justice system whenever she can if it means getting results. While those around her may judge her for her wild interpretation of the law and questionable ethics, Jax often finds them changing their tune as soon as her unique skills are needed. This new drama series follows Jax as she balances her controversial career with past trau- mas, a marriage and motherhood. Created by writer Raamla Mohamed ("Scandal"), the series' first season is directed by Pete Chatmon ("Black- ish"), Neema Barnette ("Harlem"), Julie Dash ("Women of the Move- ment"), Darren Grant ("Big Sky"), Numa Perrier ("Jezebel," 2019), Carl Seaton ("Chicago P.D.") and Kerry Washington ("Scandal"). "Chefs vs. Wild" - Season 1 This culinary competition is about to get wild: the new reality cooking series "Chefs vs. Wild" premieres Tuesday, Sept. 27, on Hulu. In each new episode of the series, two different world-class chefs are dropped into the remote wilderness. While there, each chef takes on the grueling challenge of foraging enough wild ingredients to create a restaurant-worthy, five-star meal before going head-to-head in a "wil- derness kitchen" battle using their found ingredients. Making the most of everything they were able to hunt, gather, fish or find, their final chal- lenge is to impress the judges, food expert Valerie Segrest and series host Kiran Jethwa, a renowned chef and adventurer. "Chefs vs. Wild" is exec- utive produced by series showrunner Stephen Rankin ("Man vs. Wild"), Shawn Witt ("Alone"), Gretchen Palek ("Arctic Rescue"), Jordana Ho- chman ("Queer Eye"), Chad Mumm ("Mind Over Murder"), Mark W.
