Brainerd Dispatch • September 25 - October 1, 2022 •19 "Reboot" Get ready to deal with the past when the new Hulu original sitcom "Reboot" premieres its first three epi- sodes Tuesday, Sept. 20, on the streamer. Once the stars of a hit (fictional) family sitcom called "Step Right Up," the dysfunctional cast has struggled for years to move forward in their careers and their lives. But when their series is picked back up for a reboot starring the origi- nal cast, they must all come together once more, re- solve their issues and try to grasp their second chance at fame. Starring Keegan-Michael Key ("Schmiga- doon!"), Judy Greer ("Arrested Development"), Calum Worthy ("American Vandal") and Johnny Knoxville ("Jackass: The Movie," 2002) as the sitcom's core cast, "Reboot" also stars Fred Melamed ("A Serious Man," 2009), Rose Abdoo ("Hacks"), Luke Millington-Drake ("Loot"), Bob Clendenin ("Cougar Town"), Kristian Flores ("Me Little Me," 2022), Mauricio Mendoza ("After School," 2014), Kenneth Mosley ("Kenan"), Michelle J. Costello ("East Los High"), Rachel Bloom ("Crazy Ex-Girlfriend"), Paul Reiser ("Stranger Things"), Izabella Miko ("Coyote Ugly," 2000), Krista Marie Yu ("Last Man Standing") and Dana Donnelly ("Everything's Gonna Be Okay"). "Norman Lear: 100 Years of Music and Laugh- ter" ABC celebrates the life and legacy of storyteller, activist and philanthropist Norman Lear in honor of the televi- sion pioneer's 100th birthday with the new special "Norman Lear: 100 Years of Music and Laughter," available to stream on Hulu Friday, Sept. 23. Born in 1922 in New Haven, Connecticut, Lear went overseas to Europe to fight in World War II before returning home to begin his successful career in television. Captivating audiences by writing and producing some iconic TV shows through the 1970s and '80s, including "All in the Family," "Good Times," "The Jeffersons," "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" and more, Lear has witnessed the transformation of the entertainment business from the golden age of Hollywood to the shift towards streaming media. Further, Lear began putting his fame to good use in the 1980s, by founding the progressive advocacy group People For The American Way. As this new special pays homage to this industry leader, the two-hour event features an impressive line- up of celebrity guests and musical performances, in- cluding appearances from Jennifer Aniston ("Friends"), Jimmy Kimmel ("Jimmy Kimmel Live!"), Amy Poehler ("Parks and Recreation") and Octavia Spencer ("Hid- den Figures," 2016). "Andor" - Season 1 The Star Wars franchise returns with a brand-new perspective in the new spinoff series "Andor," premier- ing Wednesday, Sept. 21, on Disney+. Heading down a dangerous path to stick up for what he believes is right, Andor embarks on the kind of journey destined to make him a rebel hero. Created by Tony Gilroy ("The Bourne Identity," 2002), "Andor" is directed by Benjamin Caron ("The Crown"), Toby Haynes ("Doctor Who") and new director Susanna White. Genevieve O'Reilly ("Tin Star"), Alex Ferns ("Wrath of Man," 2021), Wilf Scolding ("The One"), Noof Ousellam ("Guilt"), Adria Arjona ("Morbius," 2022), Clemens Schick ("Casino Royale," 2006), Anton Valensi ("Lu- ther") and Fiona Shaw ("Killing Eve") also star. Across six informative episodes, actor Benedict Cumberbatch ("Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness," 2022) narrates the action as filmmakers reveal the secret powers and super-senses of the world's most extraordinary animals, using the latest scientific in- novations and technology. Along the way, viewers are invited to see and hear beyond normal human percep- tion and experience the natural world as a specific species does. Exploring everything from seeing flowers in bee-vision, reptiles breathing underwater and eaves- dropping on a conversation between elephant seals to soaring with flying squirrels and more, "Super/Natural" provides an exclusive look into nature as humans have never seen it before. From Earthship Productions and Plimsoll Productions, the series, executive produced by James Cameron ("Avatar," 2009), is directed by Matt Brandon ("Alone in the Wild") and Bill Markham ("Earth Odyssey With Dylan Dreyer"). Armed with their three all-time favorite rally bred cars to get them through the snow, Jeremy, James and Richard explore Cold War submarine bases, frozen lake racetracks, ski resorts, grapple with building their own homes, and much more. As they wreak havoc on the arctic (and on each other) with their classic brand of chaotic fun, the boys look to make Scandinavia their greatest tour so far. The new season comes from direc- tor Phil Churchward ("Top Gear") and producers Andy Wilman ("Clarkson's Farm") and Greg Vince ("Top Gear"). "Thai Cave Rescue" Immerse yourself in the inspiring true story of Thai- land's Tham Luang cave rescue in the new drama miniseries "Thai Cave Rescue," premiering Thursday, Sept. 22, on Netflix.
