Lindsay Wagner proved enormously popular as tennis player Jaime Sommers, the teenage- years girlfriend of the parent show's Steve Austin (Lee Majors, who appears in some crossover episodes here); she's similarly injured critically, in a skydiving accident, then saved via robotic limb replacements that make her invaluable as a government agent – though she has amnesia as a result of her new state, erasing memories of her history with Steve. Richard Anderson did duty on both series as boss Oscar Goldman. The drama earned Wagner an Emmy Award and, after two seasons on ABC, was picked up by NBC for a third and final one. ››› (Not rated: AS, V) "61ST STREET: SEASON ONE" Courtney B. Vance won many awards for portraying Johnnie Cochran in "The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story," and he plays another lawyer in this well- written, well-acted and Chicago-set AMC drama series. He portrays Franklin Roberts, who becomes the legal representative for Moses Johnson (Tosin Cole), a young athlete mistaken for a gang member by police. The case eventually becomes about much more, as cops and the prosecution use it to try to settle some scores over an officer's death during a drug raid. Cast members also include "King Richard" Oscar nominee Aunjanue Ellis, Bentley Green and Holt McCallany ("Nightmare Alley"). Vance also is an executive producer of "61st Street" along with others including fellow actor Michael B. Jordan and series creator Peter Moffat; the show was planned for two seasons that were filmed concurrently, and the second one is coming. ››› (Not rated: AS, P, V) (Also on Blu-ray) "THE PHANTOM OF THE OPEN" That's "Open" as in "golf tournament," as this fact-inspired comedy-drama traces the decidedly unique sports odyssey of Maurice Flitcroft – played by Oscar winner Mark Rylance – who made his way into the British Open in 1976. He made history, by not in a way he expected nor wanted ... by shooting the worst qualifying round in the history of that event. Sally Hawkins and Rhys Ifans also are in the cast, as is Simon Farnaby, who also wrote the screenplay based on a biography he co-authored. ››› (PG-13: AS, P) (Also on Blu-ray and On Demand) "BLUE BLOODS: THE COMPLETE TWELFTH SEASON" An episode directed by series regular Bridget Moynahan is part of this round of the police drama, which also sees her prosecutor character Erin Reagan eventually make a big decision about her professional future. The season also features the returns of recurring guest stars Treat Williams and Stacy Keach, with Tony Danza and Alex Kingston ("ER") also appearing, and music veteran Lyle Lovett turning up as a con man who poses as ... Lyle Lovett. Dylan Walsh plays the latest New York mayor to clash with Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck). Donnie Wahlberg, Will Estes, Len Cariou and Vanessa Ray also continue as cast regulars. The show, which also gets a big workout from several cable networks, is slated to begin its 13th season on CBS in October. ››› (Not rated: AS, P, V) "CAT PEOPLE" Director Paul Schrader's very adult 1982 update of a classic thriller gets "Collector's Edition" treatment with the film's debut in the 4K Ultra HD format, along with a newly remastered Blu-ray copy. Nastassja Kinski plays a mysterious beauty whose brother (Malcolm McDowell) has a powerful hold over her, to the confusion and frustration of her new zoo-employee suitor (John Heard). Her caution about emotional involvement has a somewhat otherworldly cause that others eventually discover, in terrifying ways. Annette O'Toole, Ed Begley Jr. and Ruby Dee also star; special features include interviews with Schrader, Kinski, McDowell and O'Toole. ››› (R: AS, N, P, GV) "1883" The writing of Taylor Sheridan, the co-creator of the successful series "Yellowstone," yielded this Paramount+ prequel series that puts genre staple Sam Elliott back on Western turf. He plays a late- 19th-century cowboy and Civil War veteran who carries a heavy personal weight as he guides settlers from Texas to Montana (where the show was filmed on location, in both settings). Among his charges, played by music-superstar spouses Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, are ancestors of John Dutton .... Kevin Costner's "Yellowstone" character. Isabel May, LaMonica Garrett, Marc Rissmann, Audie Rick and Eric Nelsen. Already renewed for a second season, this drama has fared so well that another "Yellowstone" prequel is coming: "1923," which will star Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford. ››› (Not rated: AS, P, V) (Also on Blu-ray) Sam Elliott in "1883" "There's a connection between geological activity and the biological afterlife, and that's a fascinating insight that certainly wasn't an existing idea when I was in school and college." – Bill Nye of "The End Is Nye" on Peacock " b a a i a i B N "I love them so deeply, and the connection is so real, it doesn't matter how long it takes for us to see each other again.
