Charles Smith
For more than 55 years, Charles Smith has been designing homes for builders and families
throughout Cumberland County and the Southeast. He founded Charles Smith Associates
in 1967 and has since put his creativity and outgoing personality to use in designing more
than 15,000 homes for 41 builders. His residential designs can be found in nearly every
neighborhood in Fayetteville, as well as in places like Hilton Head Island and Myrtle Beach
in South Carolina. A Fayetteville native whose father was in the roofing business, Smith
was a standout high school football player and longtime competitive golfer. He honed his
design craft at East Carolina, Fayetteville Technical College and Georgia Tech.
Smith enjoys meeting people and making their dream homes become a reality. Homes
and home building have changed over the years, but Smith's dedication to designing just
the right home for each of his clients hasn't changed.
"I have been lucky to be with the right builders," he said. "I guess that's the reason I
