Staff reports News-Sun (Kendallville) KENDALLVILLE – Jenny Ernsberger has been named general manager and advertising director of KPC Media. Lori Fritz, president and CEO of Fort Wayne Newspapers, made the announcement. Ernsberger's new role coincides with Fort Wayne Newspapers assuming ownership of The News-Sun of Kendallville, The Star of Auburn, The Herald Republican of Angola and other KPC publications. Ernsberger is a Kendallville native who most recently served as advertising director of KPC Media. In her new role as general manager of the KPC Media newspapers, she will have oversight over the newspapers' editorial staffs and cir- culation departments along with the advertising representatives. She assured readers that the newspapers would maintain their "hometown feel," with editors and reporters continuing to work from their local offices. She said being part of Fort Wayne Newspapers will allow KPC to continue pro- viding readers with the news that matters most in each market. "It's so important that we're keep- ing the Witwer family's legacy of community newspapering alive in Kendallville, Angola, Auburn and our other markets," Ernsberger said. "Serving our Doug Ross Chronicle-Tribune (Marion) Paxton Media Group's Central Indiana News Group Publisher Kelly Miller and Executive Editor Jared Keever, announced that they have named Brett Stover as manag- ing editor of the Chronicle- Tribune. In the role, Stover will report on news around Grant County and manage the newsroom at the Chronicle- Tribune. Before coming to Marion, he served as editor at The Herald-Press in Huntington. "Brett has done great work in Huntington and we are excited to have him joining the team here in Marion," Keever said. "I'm excited to get started reporting on issues that affect residents across Grant County," Stover said. "I am looking forward to getting to know communities in Marion, and to keep the focus on local news that's important to you." Stover was born and raised in Missouri. A graduate of the University of Missouri, he previ- ously worked as news director and anchor at KCOU 88.1 FM. Last March, he accepted a position at The Herald-Press and moved to Indiana. June 2022 Page 3 Marion Chronicle-Tribune names Brett Stover new managing editor The Nina Mason Pulliam Environmental Journalism Award was created through a grant by the Pulliam Trust to the Hoosier State Press Association Foundation to recognize Indiana journalists for outstanding reporting on environ- mental issues. The award was part of the HSPA Better Newspaper Contest for the first time in 2018. This year's recipient will be announced with the 2022 BNC contest results.
