Kevin Costner had one of his first major roles as Ness, who organizes a special unit to pursue felons deemed to be beyond attest. Capone (played with perfect swagger by Robert De Niro) is very much among those targets ... and look out if he picks up a baseball bat. Sean Connery (who won an Oscar for his work here), Andy Garcia and Charles Martin Smith play Ness' associates in crime-busting; Ennio Morricone contributed a superb, memorable music score. Among the iconic scenes: a shootout in Union Station that involves a baby carriage, complete with adorable infant, that's in the wrong place at the wrong time. ›››› (R: AS, P, V) "1776" Arriving on 4K Ultra HD in plenty of time for the next major holiday, the screen version of the hit musical about the signing of the Declaration of Independence is celebrating its 50th anniversary. William Daniels, Ken Howard and Howard Da Silva reprised their respective Broadway roles as John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin, all of whom were key – despite themselves, in certain cases – to the creation and ratification of the document by which America has conducted itself ever since. Included is an extended cut that adds a couple of minutes to the theatrical version, plus a Blu-ray disc that interestingly features the edition that was released in the now- defunct Laserdisc format. John Cullum and Blythe Danner also are featured in the picture, which was produced by studio mogul Jack L. Warner ... for a rival studio (Columbia Pictures). ›››› (G) "KINKY BOOTS" Newly available on Blu-ray, this true tale – also the source of a popular stage musical that earned multiple Tony Awards – casts Chiwetel Ejiofor (lately of the Showtime series "The Man Who Fell to Earth") in a pull-out-all-the-stops performance as a drag talent who becomes the adviser to a British shoe-making family known for playing it safe and conservative. The relative in charge of the business (Joel Edgerton) adopts the new input in a final effort to stave off declaring bankruptcy. Sarah-Jane Potts and Nick Frost also star, and special features include a documentary on the real-life situation behind the 2005 film's plot. ››› (PG-13: AS, P) "YELLOWSTONE: THE FIRST FOUR SEASONS" A hit for Paramount Network ever since its premiere, this Kevin Costner-starring drama series compiles its seasons to date in this set. The actor plays the patriarch of a family that runs a large Montana ranch ... and in the tradition of such sagas, the relatives have a variety of personal challenges that feed into the overall arc of the show, created by Taylor Sheridan and John London. Luke Grimes, Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille and Gil Birmingham also star. Piper Perabo and Jacki Weaver became cast members in the series' most recent season, which also saw the prequel "1883" spun off from it (and another one is on the way). Not surprisingly, a Season 5 of this show is coming. ›››› (Not rated: AS, P, V) (Also on Blu-ray) "LUCIFER: THE COMPLETE FIFTH SEASON" What initially was slated to be the DC Comics-inspired show's last round – but became the next-to-last when Netflix (which picked up the series after Fox canceled it) decided to order a sixth year – continues the saga that began on Fox, but initially without the presence of Lucifer (Tom Ellis) in his sleuthing comrades' company, since he has returned to his natural habitat in the afterlife. That doesn't mean he can't offer help from there, though, and he eventually becomes more of a direct partner to Chloe (Lauren German) again upon his return to Los Angeles. Kevin Alejandro (also the director of one of the episodes here), D.B. Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Rachael Harris and Aimee Garcia also star. ››› (Not rated: AS, P, V) (Also on Blu-ray) "THE BOYS SEASONS 1 & 2 COLLECTION" What happens when superheroes act less than heroic with their powers? That's the thrust of this comic-book-inspired Prime Video series, with the so-called "Seven" going awry with their special abilities – and battling among themselves – while the titular Boys, self-styled vigilantes, try to stop them from wreaking mass havoc. Imbued with dark humor as well as the genre's requisite action, the show features Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Chace Crawford and Elisabeth Shue, with Aya Cash joining the cast in Season 2. Executive producers include Seth Rogen and Eric Kripke ("Supernatural"); Season 3 is slated to start streaming June 3, reuniting Kripke with new co-star Jensen Ackles. DVD extras: deleted and extended scenes; outtakes. ››› (Also on Blu-ray) "The Boys" "I remember watching Mandy (Moore) and Jon (Huertas) walk out of Stage 31. They're just walking to the van, and something hit me like, 'Oh, my gosh. I'm not going to see them, like, walk to the van (anymore).' And I started filming them just walking to the van." – Susan Kelechi Watson, seen recently on "This Is Us" on NBC " M ( 3 t m n w A j S s o "It's hard sometimes when you come home. You give so much to this job physically – which not a lot of people pick up on – and emotionally, and when you come home, you have nothing to give your family.
