hamburgers and ice cream or perhaps many of the other homemade
desserts featured at the restaurant. "We see many of the same families
coming back again and again," Gonzales said.
For Thanksgiving, Gorden made a full meal for everyone in the
community for free. "She is very involved with the community,"
Gonzales said.
The spotless and quaint restaurant dons a veteran's wall, as well
as a mural of a bald eagle draped with an American flag painted by
Phillip Moller of Tehama Creatives.
Gorden offers catering and banquets. For Valentine's Day, the
restaurant served a steak and lobster dinner and at Christmas, a
choice of prime rib or chicken. On Mother's Day, every mother
received a free piece of pie and a rose. The restaurant hosts high
school reunions and other events. The restaurant offers both
senior citizen and military discounts.
The unassuming restaurant nestled in a shopping center next
to a field of horses off the rural highway aims to make dining an
enjoyable, consistent and affordable celebration.
