Age: 30 Title: Director, Organizing Name of Organization: Teach for America Greater Chicago Northwest Indiana Jasmin Rosales is the Direc- tor, Organizing for Teach for America- Greater Chicago Nor- thwest Indiana, where she is pi- loting a fellowship for TFA alum of color who want to become better advocates in their com- munities and schools. This is an opportunity for Rosales to bring her knowledge of policy writing, her experience as an organizer and her expertise as a school leader into a space designed for people of color and share her wealth of knowledge in a way that will create ripples of change in the future. This fellowship will create more access for people of color who have been traditio - nally excluded from influencing systems and policies and give them the theoretical and practi- cal skills to be change agents. Rosales is a first-generation college graduate of Mexican roots from the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago. She attended Syracuse University where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in Psycho- logy, and she graduated with distinction when she finished a master's degree in Public Administration at DePaul Uni- versity. She worked for the Chicago City Council where she sup- ported legislation that focused specifically on housing, equal pay, and immigration. In 2018, she joined Noble Schools as a Bilingual Community Orga- nizer. In 2020, she joined UIC College Prep, a Noble School, as Dean of Operations and Public Affairs where she conti- nued her advocacy work ?and supported the reopening of the school after it had been shut down for more than a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Rosales helped create a safe reopening plan for the 2021- 2022 school year while vacci- nes were not entirely rolled out. In July of 2021, she received an award from Noble Schools for superb service and dedication to their core values. Only 18 out of over 1,000 staff members re- ceived this prestigious award In 2018, she joined the club council for the True Value Boy's and Girl's Club in Little Village where she supports the club's fundraising strategy.
