This six-episode miniseries from Marvel Studios stars Oscar Isaac ("Dune," 2021) as Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift shop employee in London, England. Plagued by blackouts and memories of a past life, Grant soon learns he is not only sharing a body with mercenary Marc Spector, but that he has also been gifted with the powers of an Egyptian moon god. As Grant and Spector's enemies converge upon them, they must learn to navigate the com - plexities of their identities while investigating the deadly mysteries of the legendary gods of Egyptian lore. Based on the Marvel comic books created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, and characters created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin, "Moon Knight" comes from head writer Jeremy Slater ("The Umbrella Academy") and directors Mo - hamed Diab ("Clash," 2016), Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (both of "The Endless," 2017). The series cast is rounded out by Ethan Hawke ("The Good Lord Bird"), Gaspard Ulliel ("A Very Long Engagement," 2004), F. Murray Abraham ("The Grand Budapest Hotel," 2014), May Calamawy ("Ramy") and Lucy Thackeray ("Surge," 2020). WHAT'S NEW ON NETFLIX "Thermae Romae Novae" - Season 1 Take a trip through time with the new Netflix adaptation of Mari Yamazaki's award-winning Manga when "Thermae Romae Novae" premieres on the platform on Mon- day, March 28. The story centers on ancient Roman architect Lucius (Kenjirô Tsuda, "Attack on Titan"), who is frustrated and lacking inspi- ration as he tries to come up with a groundbreaking new design. To his luck, Lucius discovers a hidden tunnel under a spa that transports him to a bathhouse in modern-day Japan. While confused at first, Lucius quickly becomes inspired by the spa's amazing technology and he endeavors to bring the ideas back home to ancient Rome. Directed by Tetsuya Tatamitani ("Af- rica no Salaryman") and written by Yûichirô Momose ("So I'm a Spider, So What?"), the series also voice stars Takahiro Sakurai ("Blame!" 2017), Yoshimasa Hosoya ("Attack on Titan"), Satoshi Hino ("The Last: Naruto the Movie," 2014), Junya Enoki ("Digimon Adventure tri. WHAT'S NEW ON HULU "The Girl From Plainville" True crime comes to Hulu when the new miniseries "The Girl From Pla- inville" premieres Tuesday, March 29, on the streaming platform. Inspired by the infamous true story of Michelle Carter's (portrayed in the series by Elle Fanning, "The Great") "texting-suicide" case, this biographical crime drama looks at the events surrounding the tragic 2014 death of her then-boyfriend, Conrad "Coco" Roy III (Colton Ryan, "Uncle Frank," 2020). In a controversial conviction of involun- tary manslaughter for encouraging Roy to take his own life over an extended period of time, Carter's sentence was groundbreaking and gained national attention. The eight-episode series explores her relationship with Roy, the events leading up to his death and the resulting criminal trial. From co- creators and writers Liz Hannah ("The Post," 2017) and Patrick Macmanus ("Marco Polo"), "The Girl from Plainville" is directed by Hannah, Lisa Cholodenko ("The Kids Are All Right," 2010), Pippa Bianco ("Share," 2019) and Zetna Fuentes ("Jane the Virgin"). WHAT'S NEW ON APPLE TV+ "Slow Horses" - Season 1 Take a peek behind the not-so-ex- citing scenes of the world of espio- nage in the new Apple TV+ drama "Slow Horses," making its way into the platform's streaming lineup on Friday, April 1. Academy Award win- ner Gary Oldman ("Darkest Hour," 2017) leads the cast of the series as Jackson Lamb, the miserable head of the MI5 department known as the Slough House, an administra- tive demotion for service agents who have suffered career-ending mistakes in the field. As the team, known as "the Slow Horses," slogs through the monotony of dull pa- perwork tasks, Lamb is waiting for its members to quit out of frustra- tion and boredom. But when the team becomes entangled in a dan- gerous scheme, its members' lives take a turn toward the excitement and danger of the field once again. Based on Mike Herron's novel of the same name, "Slow Horses" is produced for Apple TV+ by See-Saw Films and adapted for the screen by Will Smith ("Veep"). WHAT'S NEW ON HBO MAX "Julia" Step into the kitchen and join culi- nary icon Julia Child in the new, lim- ited biographical drama series "Ju- lia," making its debut on HBO Max on Thursday, March 31. Recognized for bringing French cooking to the American people with her land- mark cookbook "Mastering the Art of French Cooking," Child's subse- quent cooking shows, most notably "The French Chef," turned the icon (portrayed in the series by Sarah Lancashire, "Happy Valley") into a modern cooking show pioneer. Ex- ploring Child's unique life and her uplifting spirit, the series focuses on Child's relationship to the 1960s, a pivotal time for social and cultural institutions in American history. By portraying the ups and downs of Child's career and painting a por- trait of a loving marriage subject to shifting dynamics, "Julia" follows how the chef's inspiring work and choices turned her into an immortal cultural phenomenon. From creator Daniel Goldfarb ("The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel"), the series is written by Natalia Temesgen ("Dear White People") and directed by Jenée La- Marque ("The Pretty One," 2013), Charles McDougall ("Sex and the City") and Erica Dunton ("To Get Her," 2011). "Moonshot" (2022) Love stops at nothing in the new science fiction romcom "Moon- shot," premiering on HBO Max on Thursday, March 31. In a future in which Mars has been terraformed and is inhabited by the best and brightest of Earth's citizens, love takes a backseat to science. But Earth college student Sophie (Lana Condor, "To All the Boys I've Loved Before," 2018), bound and deter- mined to reunite with her love, isn't going to let a little thing like outer space get between herself and her boyfriend (Cole Sprouse, "River- dale"). Sneaking onto a Mars- bound space shuttle with her friend (Emily Rudd, "Fear Street: Part 2 - 1978," 2021), all they can do is hope that everything works out OK in the end. Directed by Christopher Winterbauer ("Wyrm," 2019) and written by new talent Max Taxe, "Moonshot" also stars Mason Gooding ("Love, Victor"), Lukas Gage ("The White Lotus"), Zach Braff ("Scrubs"), Michelle Buteau ("Always Be My Maybe," 2019) and Christine Adams ("TRON: Legacy," 2010).
