Email editor@ sgstartimes.com PLUNGE Continued from page 1 Obituaries NORMA MARIE CALLIS Norma Marie (Allmon) Callis, 73, of Fort Branch, lost her battle with pancreatic can- cer at Good Samaritan Home and Rehabilitation Center on Thursday evening, January 20, 2022, and went to be with her parents and other family in Heaven. She was born July 7, 1948, to Paul "Junior" James and Wil- ma Ruth (Hensley) Allmon at Princeton Hospital. She graduated from Fort Branch High School in 1966. She attended Lockyear Col- lege before finally obtaining her BS in business, with a concentration in accounting, from Oakland City University on May 3, 1997. She was a faithful Christian and member of Enon General Baptist Church. She loved to help people and did mission trips to Honduras to assist in any capacity she was able. As was her father, she was a charter member of the Opti- mist International Club of Fort Branch, helping to serve in the community. She was also an environmental activist. She enjoyed travel, art, reading, knitting and crochet- ing (which she did as gifts for members of the church with new births, children and oth- ers), and gardening to men- tion some. She was loved and adored tremendously and will be missed a great deal. She is at peace with the Lord, without anymore pain and suffering. She is survived by her daughter, Dana Diane (Ritchie) Julian Gore; a son, Glenn Callis; grandchildren, Kayley (Zach) Sherman Dis- ney, and Alyssa (Danny) Sher- man Robbins; great-grandchil- dren, Lane and Micah Rob- bins, Makenna Gore; sister, Carolyn Callis; a nephew, Mat- thew Callis; and other dear family members. A Celebration of Life will be at 3 p.m. on February 5, 2022, at Enon General Bap- tist Church in Princeton. Donations in her honor should be directed to Enon General Baptist Church. Fort Branch, with Dr. Kath- ryn Webb officiating. Burial was at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Coleman, 88, of Haubstadt, passed away Jan- uary 20, 2022. He was born in Gibson County, July 22, 1933 to Paul D. and Ermadall (Callis) Cole- man. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from April 7, 1954 — April 6, 1956. He returned from ser- vice to marry the love of his life, Sharon Coleman, on Feb. 16, 1957. He was a member of New Liberty Church, the Ma- sonic Lodge and a proud Ken- tucky Colonel. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Coleman; daughters, Tonja (Paul) Beuligmann and Tamara Cox; brother, Don- nie (Doris) Coleman; sister- in-law, Betty Coleman; five grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Coleman. A military graveside ser- vice was in the afternoon on Monday, Jan. 24, at Owens- ville Cemetery. French, of Fort Branch, passed away Satur- day morning, Jan. 22, 2022, at Premier Healthcare in New Harmony. He was the son of the late Doyle French, of Fort Branch. He was a life member of the Fort Branch VFW Post 2714 Auxiliary and the NR A. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joan (Utley) French; his mother, Irene (Taylor) French, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; sister, Marilyn (Tom) Shay, of Dardanelle, Ark.; a niece; four nephews; a God- child; brother-in-law, Gary (Connie) Utley, of Evansville; sister-in-law, Donna (Paul) Stone, of Auburn, Ga.; and three cousins. The funeral was Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022. Graveside ser- vices were at 11:30 a.m., at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Fort Branch. Dierlam, 79, of Fort Branch, passed away surrounded by family at Dea- coness Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, on Monday, Jan. 24, 2022. He was born to the late Rus- sell and Mae Pauline (McIl- ree) Dierlam on Oct. 1, 1942, in Princeton. He graduated from Fort Branch High School in 1961. On Feb. 27, 1965, he mar- ried Judith Graham, of Fort Branch. He was a member of the Francisco General Baptist Church and filled the pulpit there many times as a supply pastor. He was a member of the Gideons International for many years and served sev- eral offices including distrib- uting bibles throughout Gib- son County. He truly enjoyed watching Mount Carmel Ac- es sporting events, includ- ing, his grandson playing foot- ball and his granddaughter's cheer-leading. He also liked to travel to St. Louis, where he would watch performanc- es at the Muny Theatre. He is survived by his lov- ing wife of 56 years, Judy; son, Gregory, of St. Charles, Mo.; daughter, Shelly (Shaun) Har- ris, of Mount Carmel, Ill.; three grandchildren; broth- er, James ( Jeanie) Dierlam, of Francisco; aunt, Aline Huey, of Kenai, Alaska; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy; son, Grego- ry, of St. Charles, Mo.; daugh- ter, Shelly (Shaun) Harris, of Mount Carmel, Ill.; grandchil- dren; brother, James ( Jean- ie) Dierlam, of Francisco; ex- tended family and friends.
