FIGHT Continued from page 1 SPORTS BRIEFS Eagle Watch set for Jan. 8 Patoka Lake is hosting several programs during its 34th annual Eagle Watch Event, which will be on Jan. 8, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Patoka Lake Nature Center. Eagle In- terpretive naturalist Wade LeHue will present a live bald eagle and Dana Recklehoff will share the stories of Pato- ka Lake's raptors. Brian Finch, Patoka Lake wildlife spe- cialist, and his team will lead groups on driving tours to hot spots for eagle viewing around the lake. Lunch will be provided. Children's activities and crafts will be available from 12:40 to 2:30 p.m. Cost is $20 per person. Advance registration is required by calling the Patoka Lake Nature Center at 812-685 -2447 and is limited to the first 50 participants. Dress for the weather and bring binoculars, spotting scopes and cam- eras if you have them. Be sure to have vehicles fueled for the driving tour. Public hearing on proposed wildlife rule changes set for Jan. 20 The Natural Resources Commission's Division of Hear- ings has scheduled a virtual public hearing to accept pub- lic comments on proposed rule changes governing fish- ing tournament licenses/permits, trapping wild animals, and registering to be an organ donor through the DNR's license system. Smith, 57, of Lindale, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2022, in Lindale. He was born on February 17, 1964, in Champaign, Ill., to the late George and Betty Smith, and was raised in Pe- tersburg. He attended Vincennes Uni- versity before moving to Tex- as in 1985, where he began his career as a design engineer for Roadmaster and Nautilus, and later for Tucker Rocky, a mo- torcycle and AT V accessories company. One year ago, he was able to make his profes- sional dreams come true by starting his own business, Ga- ragezilla Designs, LLC, where he used his brilliant ingenuity and mechanical skills to follow his true passion of designing and building his own custom motorcycle equipment. From his years of profes- sionally racing motocross, to teaching his sons and other young riders to race competi- tively, he whole-heartedly fol- lowed his passions and lived life to the fullest. He thorough- ly enjoyed riding cross-coun- try with his "brothers" and with his dog on the back of his Harley. He had a heart like no other and adored his sons and granddaughters. He will be greatly missed by all of his DANIEL MANN Daniel Mann, 67, of Peters- burg, formerly of Murphys- boro and Ziegler, Ill., passed away on January 5, 2022, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville. He was born on November 21, 1955, in Chicago, to Ray- mond and Mildred (Morgan) Mann. On August 11, 1985, he mar- ried Andrea Holt and she pre- ceded him in death on August 12, 2019. He retired from Penn Alu- minum and was a union stew- ard for IBEW for many years. He loved to fly fish, going to garage sales, reading and an- tiquing. He enjoyed listening to the Beatles and collecting Beatles memorabilia. He was active in the Berean Christian Church of Murphys- boro and Petersburg First Christian Church. He accept- ed Jesus back into his life in 1996, and was a loyal servant. He loved the Lord with all his Chanden, Cora, Tatum, Mat- thew, Hayden, Madalyn, Don III and Dean; and his sisters, Jean Garrett, Willa (Paul) Bean and Kathy (Michael) Kennedy. There will be no services. JUNE KING June (Gladish) King, 94, of Petersburg, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born September 27, 1927, to Dewey and Mary Catherine (Sanders) Gladish, and married Robert Eugene King on January 17, 1948. She was a 1947 graduate of Petersburg High School and had a career in banking for over 30 years. She was a mem- ber of the United Methodist Church of Petersburg and lat- er in life, she attended Algiers Methodist Church. She was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary. In her spare time, she en- joyed playing bingo, doing puzzles and watching sports on T V. She also loved spend- ing time with her family and friends. She loved dogs and had many throughout her life, including her granddog, Holly. She always had a lively spirit EVIE CLAIRE TEETERS Evie Claire Teeters, new- born daughter of Malik and Charli Teeters, of Petersburg, passed away January 9, 2022, at The Women's Hospital in Newburgh. She is survived by her par- ents, Malik and Charli (Cook) Teeters; brothers, Haiden Tee- ters and Laramie Teeters; and sister, Marleigh Teeters. DONALD ALAN MEADORS Donald Alan Meadors, 80, passed away January 4, 2022, at the home of his daughter, Erin. He was born July 10, 1941, near Otwell, at the home of his grandparents, Lewis and Velma Garland, to his par- ents, Horace (Sam) and Nina Meadors. He worked construction for many years, retiring from the Iron Workers. He is survived by his chil- dren, Erin (Matthew) Gab- bard, Don (Allie) Meadors, Jr. and Colleen (Antho- ny) Varcak; grandchildren, family and friends. He is sur- vived by his two sons, Corey (Andi) Smith, of Lindale, Tex- as, and Blake (Alex) Smith, of Lindale; two granddaugh- ters; two sisters, Terri Kerr and Bambi ( John) Steiner, of Noblesville; a niece; a neph- ew; three great-nieces; and a great-nephew. A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Janu- ary 15, 2022, at Swan Moto- cross Park in Tyler, Texas.
