The Press-Dispatch Wednesday, Januar y 12, 2022 B-5 Since 1870, the Harris family has been honored to serve our friends and neighbors throughout Pike County, from one generation to the next. As area firms continue to change ownership through "mergers," "partnerships," or whatever euphemistic language those involved utilize, we remain true to the vision started by Nicholas Harris and his son, Orace: one family serving the community. When we say family owned and operated, we actually mean our family. Although we continue to receive inquiries from conglomerates and individuals interested in buying us out, we do not even entertain their requests to speak with us. And the reason we stop them cold in their tracks is simple: what they see as a business opportunity is our family name and legacy. Additionally, just as our family name is not for sale, neither are the families we serve. For 152 years and, Lord willing, another 152 years, the Harris family of Harris Funeral Home will be here for you and yours.
