Jim Koury is a seeker of personal truth, and desires to empower oth- ers to find their own personal truth, whatever it may be. He is also an ac vist who is not afraid to speak his mind, and ruffle some feath- ers, if necessary. His main objec ve is to get people to think and think for themselves. He espouses Aristotle's mantra, "It is the mark of an educated mind to en- tertain a thought without accep ng it." Jim does not force his views on others but just puts them out there for folks to think about and discard if they wish. Welcome to the December issue of Diversity Rules Magazine. What a crazy year we have had, and an- other one is almost over. We can only hope 2022 gets a bit be er and we can get beyond the COVID realm and into some semblance of normality. I know this editor/publisher has had quite enough of it all! I am sure you all feel the same. This month's feature is not an interview but a great piece on a new music album en tled, Place and Time, to be released on December 3rd and will be available on Spo fy and Apple Music. The album shines a spotlight on women, queer POC, theys, en- bys, and transgender people. Place and Time is the brainchild of wri ng duo EllaRose Chary and Brandon James Gwinn. Place and Time was recorded in New York City, at John Kilgore Sound and Recording, with engineers M.P. Kuo and Jabbath Roa, and at MPK Re- cording and Teddy Ki y Studios. It is co-produced by Kimberly Hyacinthe. Place and Time stars Tituss Burgess, Amber Gray, Telly Leung, Tony Award Winner Daisy Eagan, and an all-star cast of Broadway performers. This month's issue contains some great ar cles and features, as usual. Our regular columnists are back at it: Stu Schwartz, Diane Lang, and Joey Amato. Ad- di onally, there are some awesome book and movie features, that you might want to consider watching and reading. As we approach the demise of yet another year and a very quick one at that, we can only hope 2022 brings us be er news. It sure has been a rough couple of years, has it not? As we coast toward New Year's Eve, let's pray or whatever one does to send good thoughts to the universe, that next year will be much brighter and posi ve. We have had enough doom and gloom at the hands of this insidious virus. But, alas, it is something beyond our control, as viruses will do what viruses will do -- mutate, replicate and spread. PLEASE get vaccinated if you have not done so yet. It is beyond all comprehension why folks are not doing it. It may save their lives! Unfortunately, we can not change their minds. Only they can do it themselves, and hopefully, before it is too late, and they get sick with Covid. We can only take care of ourselves, and do the best we can to muddle through this horrific nightmare we have been forced to en- dure since March of 2020. It has been too long. It has gone on TOO LONG. It NEEDS to stop! Sigh. Anyway, make it your goal in 2022 to be a be er per- son, to grow, and challenge yourselves to be a bet- ter person than you are now. Take up a hobby you always wanted to undertake, read books, be ar s c, write a book or two, or poems. Whatever it is that you are good at that you have not yet cul vated or explored, make it your mission to DO IT in 2022. You will be a much be er person for it, and your soul and those who need to hear and see you do whatever it is you are good at, a lot of good. So, peace out, my friends. Have a great Christmas and holiday season. Make the best of it, despite the craziness that surrounds us! See you next year! My Two Cents A Message From The Editor James R.
