Deb Troutman led the students in a song during the Veterans Day service. What does kindness mean to you? It can always be the smallest things a person can do to make a big difference in someone else's life. Students decorat- ed place mats for the veterans dinner. The placement Alivia Dawson made, she left a simple but sweet mes- sage on it. This week OMA had a visitor, it was the veteran that sat down at Alivia's place mat. He came to OMA to hand deliver a written thank you note, along with a $20 bill. Those kind words Alivia wrote were the words he needed that day. A perfect example how the smallest things can mean the world to someone, so always show kindness. Vance and Elaine Nelson, along with Stanley and Ruth Ann Nel- son, came to watch their grandchildren/great-grandchildren during the Veterans Day Program. Otwell Miller Academy's October character trait was "Self-Con- trol." Pictured are the class winners: Jude Weitkamp, Skylee Ver- million, Graci Boger, Brody Smith and Kellcyn Riker. Graci Boger is not pictured. This week was been our American Education Week at Winslow Elementary. There were many activities and we have decorated the school. The theme this year is Disney World's 50th Anniversary – the school is decorated all Disney. Look for more photos in the Dec. 1 edition. Kameron Schwindt is a pirate during the costume parade. The fifth grade hall is decorated as "Pi- rates of the Caribbean." Jill Berry, from Bloomin Circus, talked to the stu- dents on Epcot Day about micro foods. Kylie Genco and Troy Powers check out the micro greens. Jesslyn Western and Kalli Adams, from Mrs. El- liott's third grade class, are enjoying reading the se- ries "The Baby-Sitters Club" together. Alli Hardin, Athalee Loveless and Haylie Fulcher, with Sean Booth in the background, assist with infor- mation at the Pike County Historical Center. Storyteller Susan Fowler talked to the students about Walt Disney and Disney World during Magic Kingdom Day. Nola Thompson, Landen Snodgrass, Wyatt Knight and Noah LeMond are story participants.
