is peppered with places of
prayer, some dating back to
the 1800s. Each holds its own
distinctive style and flavor.
Before the buildings were
erected, spiritual needs of the
people were met by traveling
priests, pastors, reverends and
missionaries until the mid- to late 1800s. Structures were
built as people settled amid the times of the Gold Rush.
