Sandy formed numerous small and large "inlets" that
scoured foundations causing homes to break apart as
they sunk into the eroding sand, leaving hazardous
conditions for reclaiming personal belongings.

of twenty-four miles-per-hour, eroding foundations
of homes like this one on the bayside.
