The grant period started in early 2018 and will receive federal funding through the end of 2021. The grant has allowed the city of Corning to create and continue to grow a recreation program for the youth of the community. Typically the recreation program runs in four sessions a year: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall with some in between classes. Classes are offered to the youth age 1 to 18. Some of the most well attended classes are Dance, Taekwondo, and Gymnastics. Classes that run with every session are Dance, Tumbling, Gymnastics, Fitness, Art, Crafts, Taekwondo, Gaming Programming, Robotics, Reading and Photography. Other special classes held are Baking, Sports and Drills and Mommy and Me painting nights. Corning recreation is always striving to introduce new programs.
