Phillip was born November 18, 1957 in Cleveland County to the late Mary Ann Doster Teseniar. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Regina Doster. Those left to cherish his memory include four daughters, Angela Doster, Cynthia Doster, Samantha Doster (Juan Carranza) and Sabrina Queen; two sons, Christopher Doster and Timothy Doster; broth- er, Michael Doster (Angela Lewis) of Landrum and a sis- ter, Sheila Waters (German Reyes) of Spruce Pine, NC. He is also survived by thir- teen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A gathering to honor Phillip's life was conducted at Harrelson Funeral Home. MICHAEL WREN TAYLOR Michael Wren Taylor, age 62, of Rutherfordton passed away August 5, 2020. Those left to cher- ish his memory include his wife Mary Kathryn Tomblin Taylor, daughter Emily Ricard (Travis) and a grand- daughter. A service to celebrate Mike's life will be held at a later date. LOUISE CARTER DOBBINS Louise Carter Dobbins age 89 of Ellenboro, passed away on August 6 th 2020. Louise was the daugh- ter of the late Harvey and Hattie Skinner Carter, and the wife of the late Rev. Francis Dobbins. Left to cherish her mem- ory are her children Roger Dobbins, Kathy Randall, and Debbie Friddle; brother Jerry Carter; 6 grandchildren, and a number of great grandchil- dren. Services will be pri- vate. Burial will be private at Plainview Baptist Church Cemetery. WOODROW SAMUEL FLACK Woodrow Samuel Flack was born on April 27th, 1954. He passed away on August 6th, 2020. He grew up in Union Mills. One of his proud accomplishments was join- ing the United States Army. He served from 1972-1976. He is proceed- ed in death by his father Sam Flack, his mother Frances Sorrell Flack and his granddaughter. He is sur- vived by his seven siblings, Elzaja Flack, Edith Greene Foy, Geraldine Koone, Roscoe Flack, James Flack, Curtis Flack and Norman Flack. His daughters, Anna Flack, Mary Flack Piocuda, and Grace Flack. As well as his 11 grandchildren. He was laid to rest at Round Hill Baptist Cemetery in Union Mills, NC. In lieu of flowers please donate in memory to K9s for Warriors, or to the Wounded Warrior Project. BILLY RAY KOONE Billy Ray Koone, age 81 of Forest City, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020. Bill was born March 9, 1939 in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Addie Joe Koone and Ola Rollins Koone. Bill served his country in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Hyder Koone in 2011, his daughter, Ronna Koone, brothers, Woodrow Koone and Paul Koone, and sister, Bonnie Koone. Survivors include his daughter, Dana Koone Bright, and husband Robbie of Forest City, his brother, Clyde Koone of Shelby, his sisters, Myrtle Padgett of Falls Church, VA, Ruby Cole of Hendersonville, and Daisy Daughtrey of Spindale. There are also five grand- children. Services were private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Family Resources of Rutherford County, Post Office Box 1619, Forest City, NC 28043. LOUISE DEWEY Louise Dewey, age 95, of Rutherfordton, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020. She was the daugh- ter of the late Henry Luther Ellenburg and the late Theo Doshie Ellenburg. In addition to her par- ents she was preceded in death by her husband William Albertus Dewey; her daughter Judy Bradley; brothers Grady Ellenburg, George Ellenburg, Harrison Ellenburg, Junior Ellenburg and James Ellenburg 3 great-grandchildren. Survivors include sis- ters; Mary Moss, Melvina "Butch" Melton, Martha White and Laura Wyatt. Six grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren; thirteen great great-grandchildren. And many nieces and neph- ews and other family mem- bers. The memorial service was held at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel. RUBY OWENS EVANS Ruby Owens Evans, age 93 of Forest City passed away Friday, August 7, 2020. A native of Ellenboro, she was the daughter of Dovia Burns Owens and Pinkney Onzo Owens. She was preceded in death by her parents and eight sib- lings. Ruby married Doyle Harrison Evans in 1952. They were married 47 years until his death in 2000. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Carol Ennis and son-in-law, Mike of Forest City, and son, Michael Evans and daughter-in-law, Yoshiko of Fresno, California, three grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The funeral service was in The Padgett and King Chapel. Interment followed at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. DEENA LEE CAIRENS LATOUR Deena Lee Cairens LaTour, Born September 1, 1967 –passed away August 5, 2020. Deena is preceded in death by her mother Nancy (Painter) Cairens of TN, her father Bill Cairens of NC, her grandparents Dee Chandler Painter of TN & Theodore Painter of WV, & Harvey & Maphry Cairens of NC. She is survived by her sister Angela Cairens-Kelz, brother-in-law Rick Kelz, & nephew Jason Cairens-Kelz, all of Mills River, NC, her 2 aunts Lynn Kimmel (Wayne) of Florida & Glorya Vane (Carl) of TN, & numerous loving cousins & friends. AUGUSTINE ELIZABETH PRITCHARD HENDRIX Augustine Elizabeth Pritchard Hendrix 63, passed away August 5, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Joshaway Pritchard and Gwendolyn Jeanette Walker Pritchard. Augustine was also preced- ed in death by her husband Carl Allen Hendrix, broth- er, Tommy Briscoe and sis- ters Judy Roberts, Debbie Parker, Ruby Penley and Jannie Pritchard. Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Brandy Weeks (Thomas) and Stanley Weeks II, a sis- ter Patricia Welborn, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a number of nieces and nephews. A private memorial ser- vice will be held. STEVE RUMFELT Steve Rumfelt, age 52, of Gilkey, passed away August 1, 2020. Steve was born May 21, 1968 in Rutherford County to the late Norris Rumfelt and Ruby Arrowood Rumfelt. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Teresa Rumfelt; two daugh- ters, Stevie Rumfelt of Bostic and Cassidy Ellenburg of Spindale; three grandchil- dren. He is also survived by a sister, Wanda Fowler Queen (Hank) of Gilkey; two great aunts and a great uncle. A memorial service is being planned and will be announced by Harrelson Funeral Home.
