By Catherine Jozwik Special to Waukesha County Home Featuring 20 model homes built by 17 Southeastern Wisconsin homebuilders, this year's Metro- politan Builders Association Parade of Homes will showcase the latest home design trends and amenities. Held annually for over 70 years, the 2019 MBA Parade of Homes will run Saturday through Sept. 2. The parade will highlight homes in three subdivisions: White Oak Conservancy in the Town of Delafield, Twin Pine Farm in the Town of Lisbon, and Aero Park in Menomonee Falls. Hours are Mon- day through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, Sunday and Labor Day from 11 a.m.to 5 p.m. Tickets, purchased at any parade site, online and in advance at select locations, are regularly priced at $15 and include admis- sion to all three subdivisions. The homes will feature many modern amenities, including media rooms and gaming centers, mudrooms, finished lower levels, and multi-generational suites, said Natalie Riley, MBA communica- tions manager. Homes are a mix of sizes and architectural styles, among them French country, mod- ern farmhouse and mid-century. "The homes range from 2,100 to 8,475 square feet in a combination of two-story and ranches, allowing visitors to see a variety of home designs," Riley said. Jeff Nelson, architect for Steeple Pointe Homes in Waukesha, said that many baby boomers are "empty-nesters interested in large entertainment spaces." A few of the 2019 parade homes include an open-concept space that can be used as a kitchen, dinette and sun- room, many with screened-in porches. "I have seen a larger interest in the last few years with people wanting to bring the out- doors in," Nelson noted.
