Sunday morning | 7 TV Media Weekly | March 2 - 8, 2013 Stars on Screen By Sheila Busteed TV Media MUSICAL CLASSICS: Kristin Chenoweth has already proven she's a dame of Broadway and the small screen, but soon those two elements will become one when she becomes the dame of the Lincoln Center. The singer/actress will headline a new concert special for PBS's "Live From Lincoln Center" banner on Sunday, March 24, as part of the venue's American Songbook series. "The Dames of Broadway...All of 'Em!!!" will feature Chenoweth as she delights audience members in the intimate Allen Room setting while per- forming many beloved Broadway songs. The concert will mark Chenoweth's return to the Lincoln Center, having done two memorable shows at the complex in the past. She played Cunegonde in the New York Philharmonic's 2004 revival of "Candide" at its home base in Lincoln Center's Av- ery Fisher Hall. It was filmed and presented under PBS's "Great Performances" banner. She followed that with a solo concert in 2007 at the Metropolitan Opera, which is also located in Lincoln Square. Chenoweth is a modern musical theater legend with many Broadway hits under her belt. She won a Tony award for her role as Sally in "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," and then topped that by originating the role of Glinda in "Wicked." After that, she portrayed multiple characters in "The Apple Tree," followed by a lengthy run in a leading role for "Promises, Promises," opposite Sean Hayes. Additionally, she has appeared in several "Encores!" productions at the New York City Center. Needless to say, this woman knows her Broadway tunes. NEXT FOR DEX: Reports are circulating that the upcoming eighth season of Showtime's hit serial killer drama "Dexter" will be its last. If so, show runners are certainly setting it up to be a starfilled finale. When the show returns with new episodes in June, it will bring Sean Patrick Flanery and Charlotte Rampling along for the bloody ride. According to "Entertainment Weekly," the two performers have landed recurring roles in Season 8. Flanery will portray Jacob Elroy, K @ H D O C F 4 / $
