In addition, we specialize in hair extensions, and we offer complete makeup services including eyelash extensions. What is your business philosophy? Spend time getting to know each individual and leave a lasting impression with each client. Also, just because our customers are on the Strip, doesn't mean they should be overcharged. We want to build long relationships with our clients. Who are your customers? One is our location inside the Miracle Mile Shops, which is on the 50-yard-line on the Strip. Our environment also sets us apart because it's fun. We serve complimentary mimosas, coffee, water. Plus, our hair extensions and makeup packages are very affordable. For example, hair extensions start at $100. What is the hardest part about doing business in Las Vegas? Las Vegas is a very competitive market. Every company and brand in the world wants a location in Vegas, which can make expansion challenging. Also, since this is a tourist town, you only have one chance to make a lasting impression on clients. What's the most important part of your job? Creating the vision and direction for the Dollheads brand. I want to create a brand that I would use personally. Every detail matters. What is the best part about doing business in Las Vegas? Las Vegas doesn't have a slow season. Revenue can be generated year-round. Also, the energy from all the visitors and the ability to meet people from all over the world is very exciting. What obstacles has your business overcome? The biggest obstacle has been expansion. Leasing is very limited on the Strip, specifically in good locations. We have been in Las Vegas since 2009 with various businesses. Currently, we have five locations on the Strip, includ- ing Dollheads, that sell cosmetics, hair extensions and shoes. We hope to continue to add locations and expect to open a Dollheads at Fashion Show mall soon. Las Vegas gave us the opportunity to have year-round business. Before moving here, my partner and I lived in Los Angeles. Typically, after the holidays, retail sales would slow down until summer. Here, we have received the exposure we needed. We get approached often by tourists who visit our store and are interested in franchising our business in their town. That wouldn't happen anywhere else. What have you learned from the recession? The recession has been good for us. We have a very strong business model. When other businesses failed, we were given the opportunity to expand and obtain good locations on the Strip.
