TCE program needs volunteers Generations, the Area 13 SUTTON JOE for County Council My name is Joe Sutton and I'm seeking re-election to serve on the Pike County Council. For the past eight years I've served as a coun- cilman at-large. I'm a business owner, farmer, professional manager, husband and father. My wife Ann and I are life-long residents of Pike County, we have raised our family here, we don't plan on leaving, and we hope our children will find it possible to work and live here as well. My motivation for seeking this office is to use the experience, knowledge and the God-given common sense I have to make Pike County a better place for my family, friends and neighbors. I' quired to attend a training session in January and com- plete the home study in or- der to be certified for tax season. Generations will provide stipends and mile- age reimbursement. Last year, 40 volunteers were certified and provid- ed tax assistance to nearly 2,000 individuals in the five- county area. If you enjoy working with Agency on Aging, is looking for volunteer tax consultants for its Tax Counseling for the Elderly and low income program. Generations has offered tax counseling assis- tance to older adults for 35 years to residents of Knox, Daviess, Pike, Martin and Dubois counties. Volunteers will be re- age the "business" of Pike County in a fiscally responsible manner, not engage in the "politics" that could prevent us from achieving our full potential and continue to explore and attract good economic opportu- nities to the area while preserving the rural environment we all love. I have no interest in achieving personal gain from the office. Better- ment of the County is my goal. I'm not running to get the insurance benefit or to settle a score by "getting back" at any individual or group. Over the past eight years I've learned you can't please everyone. I have made, and if re-elected will continue to make, the hard decisions that may not be popular with some individuals or groups. Regardless of popu- larity, they'll be based on what's best for our county and its residents. While I've spoken with many, knocked on doors, walked in parades and just seen some of you out in public, there are simply not enough hours in the day to campaign and make contact with everyone. If I missed you, I still would appreciate your support and am asking for your vote. people and are interested in being part of this valuable community service, con- tact Linda Yochum at 800- 742-9002; 812-888-4854; or lyochum@vinu.edu Vote Joe Sutton for Pike County Council Paid for by the Committee to Re-Elect Joe Sutton for County Council d like to continue to man- If you're undecided on which candidates to support, please ask yourself these five questions before casting your vote: 1. Is this Candidate qualified for the position? 2. Does this Candidate have the experience to do a good job? 3. Will this Candidate work hard in this position? 4. Can this Candidate work across party lines in the best interest of Pike County? 5. Is this Candidate running without any hidden agendas? I can answer "YES" to all the questions above and I'd appreciate your support. Kambree Perry competed in the Miss Boo'tiful Beauty Pageant at Otwell First runner-up in pageant
