But it may not be the solution you have in mind! Satan's strategy is to defeat you by wearing you down, so winning is not a matter of escape but of en- durance. Tenacious faith and commitment is one of the great themes of scrip- ture. It's also the secret of victory." "When their prison doors miraculously opened, Paul and Silas realized that God's plan for them was not to es- cape but to stay there and win the jailer and his family to Christ. Sometimes God's 'way of escape' is to keep you where you are and use you to bring glory to His name." "God will make a way of es- cape" (I Corinthians 10:13). "Do what is right," they think, "and God will love and bless you, but do what is wrong and He will be angry with you and curse you." Perhaps this view of Cornelius R. But He is the Enemy of the workers of iniquity as such—as workers of iniquity, not as individual persons. In Ezekiel 18:23 God asks: "Have I any plea- sure at all that the wick- ed should die… ?" And in II Peter 3:9 we learn that when God might have judged this world for the crucifixion of Christ, He delayed the judgment because He is "longsuffering" and "not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to re- pentance." The Apostle Paul, re- ferring to the crucifix- ion, declares that "God was in Christ, reconcil- ing the world unto Him- self, not imputing their shown sinners more conclusively that He desires their good than by imputing their sins to Christ and telling them that He is not im- puting their trespasses unto them? Their tres- passes will be imput- ed to them, of course, if they reject God's provision of salvation through Christ, but for the present it is a won- derful fact that we can go to any sinner and say on the authority of God's written Word: "Your sins have been paid for; God is not holding them against you. Will you accept His love and receive Christ as your Savior?" No, unsaved friend, trespasses unto them; and hath committed un- to us the word of recon- ciliation" (II Corinthi- ans 5:19). This year we have seen the debate in- clude same sex marriage, abortion, and restrictions on the free exercise of reli- gion. Since 1973 when Roe vs. Wade became the law of the land, more than 54 mil- lion American children have been killed. It is sad when a mother's womb becomes a killing field for little babies. Recently Billy Graham, in a prayer letter, wrote, "My heart aches for America and its deceived people." Thou- sands of Christians join Bil- ly Graham in his concern for our nation's declining morality. The Pope himself has spoken on the threat posed by Obama's attempt to force Catholics to cooperate in practices the church be- lieves to be evil. Chris- tians are to be leaders in pro- moting good and opposing evil. Many believe this is the darkest hour in our history and the future of this nation get from God, the more the world spirals out of control. Today our culture strives to avoid any possibility of of- fending anyone except God. We live in a dangerous world in a desperate hour.
