Port Washington Road, Mequon The Ozaukee County chapter of the Grief Recovery After A Substance Passing support group will hold its first meeting. GRASP groups are for families who have lost a family member due to drugs or alcohol. The group is fundamental in helping families grieve, not only with the shock of losing a child, but also the stigma that comes with the death involving substance/drugs. Fridays, through Jan. 27 Pickleball for adults 55 and over Time: 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Where: Community Gym, W63 N643 Washington Ave., Cedarburg Cost: $3 per time Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country. It is a sport for all ages, similar to tennis, but on a court the size of a badminton court. The Cedarburg Senior Center is offering pickleball indoors at the Community Center Gym. The game is played by two or four people using wood paddle racquets and a plastic, poly ball with holes. Fridays through May Pickleball Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Where: John Long Middle School, 700 Hickory St. Grafton Cost: $3 per night Four regulation-sized indoor courts are available, with one court reserved for beginners. Supervisor and instructor will be on duty. Third Fridays, Jan. 20 through Feb. 17 Crafting at the library Time: 1 p.m. Where: U.S.S. Liberty Memorial Library, 1620 11th Ave., Grafton Come learn how to make beautiful crafts under the instruction of master crafter Edith Bahringer. Classes are free and meet each third Friday of the month at 1 p.m. Just bring a scissors (small embroidery scissors work the best) and some tacky glue. Everything else will be provided. This month the class will make a turkey by folding a book. Register for these classes in-person at the library or by calling 262-375-5315. Saturday, January 21 Make and Take Snowflakes! Time: 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Where: Cedarburg Public Library, W63 N589 Hanover Ave., Cedarurg Miss Nancy will provide the paper and scissors (and even cool snowflake patterns) and you provide the creativity. The group offers encouragement, critique and creative feedback. You are encouraged to bring 1,000 words of your work to share, but it is not required.
