4 • Milwaukee County Post • January 13, 2017 West Allis man who allegedly returned for dropped phone charged with two armed robberies at liquor store MILWAUKEE — A 25-year-old West Allis man was charged with armed robbery after he reportedly returned twice to the crime scene on the city's Southwest side looking for his cellphone that he thought he dropped there. Terry J. Richardson demanded money at about 5:50 p.m. Jan. 3 inside A-1 Liquor Store and shot at a 62-year-old male employee, demanded money, then fled with cash, police reported. About 10 min- utes after the crime, with police on the scene at 3107 S. 92nd St., Richardson asked an officer if he found a cellphone. After speaking with other squads, the officer recognized the man matched the description of the suspect, according to authorities. Although the suspect drove off, the same officer said he saw the same car and same man who again asked about the cellphone at an area bank parking lot about 45 minutes later. The liquor store employee said in a criminal complaint that he nervously began to back up after the firearm was pointed at him and the gunman repeatedly asked for money before firing a shot, and while the employee absentmindedly held a liquor bottle, which could have been seen as a threat, the robber fired again. A .45-caliber handgun was recovered from Richardson's car, police said. The two spent casings inside the store were .45 caliber, the complaint said. Richardson was charged with first-degree recklessly endangering safety and two counts of armed robbery, which also included robbing the same place but a different employee at 8:10 p.m. Dec. 6. That cashier said the gunman pointed a gun at him and the masked robber made off with $300. Richardson told detectives he drank two bottles of brandy before the Jan. 3 robbery, the gun went off twice and he thought he dropped his missing cellphone at the scene, the complaint said. At a Jan. 6 preliminary hearing, probable cause was found Richardson committed the crimes. Cash bail has been set at $50,000. Larson announces committee assignments, intent to support community school model MILWAUKEE — State Sen. Chris Larson, D-Milwaukee, has been named the ranking Democratic member of the Senate Committee on Education, the Senate Committee on Administrative Rules, and the Joint Committee for Review of Administrative Rules. Larson has also been appointed as a member of the Senate Committee on Insurance, Housing, and Trade and the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Small Business, and Tourism. "Looking ahead, I will introduce legislation to support the suc- cessful community schools model as a proven way to remove learning barriers, such as access to mental health care," Larson said in a release. "Our Milwaukee community has already shown a keen interest in adopting the community schools approach. Milwaukee Public Schools, in partnership with United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County, recently announced that two additional schools transitioned into being community schools. "Additionally, more and more communities across Wisconsin are passing referen- dums as they struggle to make up for the state's failure to invest in our neighborhood schools," he said, adding 80 percent of the time they say support local referendums. "Unfortunately, some of our distressed neighborhoods have been economically squeezed dry and simply cannot fill the funding gap left by Governor Walker's cuts. They need state legislators to end the historic cuts and instead provide every school with their fair share of funding." Woman gets probation for sending teen nude pictures WAUKESHA — A Milwaukee woman who sent multiple nude images of herself to a New Berlin girl and encouraged her to reply with photos of herself was sentenced Monday to serve two years on probation as a result. Ann Malone, who turned 21 Wednesday, was charged with exposing intimate parts to a child, getting a child to expose intimate parts and contributing to the delinquency of a minor after the mother of a 15-year-old girl reported finding on her daughter's cell- phone two videos depicting Malone in a shower with parts of her body exposed in July 2015, as well as a message encouraging the girl to reply with a video of her own, which apparently occurred. The girl reported Malone met her near the girl's home and took her to a New Year's Eve party, from which the 15-year-old girl returned intoxicated, the complaint said. Malone entered pleas to misdemeanor counts of sending obscene computer messages and contributing to the delinquency of a minor in October. On Monday she was sen- tenced to serve the probation term, plus 200 hours of community service, to undergo a sex offender evaluation and follow treatment recommendations, continue her counsel- ing and pay a fine of $883, and avoid any contact with the teen or her residence. Circuit Judge Michael Maxwell did leave open the possibility the matter could be expunged from her record at a later date if she completes her sentence and has no other law vio- lations.
